Renting Your Timeshare FAQ

I'm new to RedWeek, how does it work?

RedWeek is an online marketplace for timeshare rentals and resales. If you own a timeshare, you can post your offering by yourself, or use our full-service rental option and let us do the work for you.

Is there a commission?

If you choose to use our full-service rental option, there is a flat $99 service fee, only when the rental is complete. If you use the DIY option, there are no fees other than the advertising cost of $29.99.

How do I take payment from the renter?

With the DIY timeshare rental option, you can arrange to take a check, or any other form of payment that you and your renter decide on. We highly recommend the use of an escrow service — but, you can check our Payment Method Comparison chart for alternatives.

How should I price my timeshare for rent?

The pricing of your timeshare rental should be largely based on supply and demand. Check out your resort's page on RedWeek.com to see what other owners are charging, and use our What's My Timeshare Worth valuation tool to see historical rental rates by week and unit size. If you are in a rush to rent, pricing lower than other weeks is the best way to get a quick response. No matter what price you choose, make sure you sign up to be notified as new postings are added on your resort's page. This will allow you to keep track of your competition and tweak your pricing (for no extra charge) as you go.

Do I need a rental contract?

With the DIY rental option, a contract is not required, but is highly recommended. We have a sample rental agreement available, and also highly recommend using Vacation Escrow to create the agreement and handle the payment.

What if I don't have a reservation yet?

If you want to use our full-service rental option, or have us verify your week, you will need a confirmed reservation. If you prefer not to make a reservation up-front, you can post your rental using our DIY method — advertising the full range of possible dates, and including any details or restrictions in your Details section. Make sure the price you choose is one that you will accept for ANY dates during that period.

Can I rent out a week I got on an exchange from RCI or II?

No, both companies prohibit this practice. Next time, post your timeshare for rent instead of giving it to RCI or II.

Rent your timeshare points/credits

Points can be rented on RedWeek only in these ways:

1) Use your points to reserve a specific week, then post that week for rent on the resort's page.

2) Add a rental posting to one (or more) relevant resort page(s) showing the full range of dates you may be able to book, based on availability.

Do not add a SALES posting for points unless you intend to sell your entire points ownership.
