Marriott's Sunset Pointe

I have purchased stays at this property multiple times over the past few years, and every stay has been a fantastic one. I've been with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) and the unit worked out perfectly and the resort activities for the kids were great while the Mrs. and I went golfing. We've also been back with 2 other couples and the unit comfortably handled all of us and was a perfect base for our week there.

It is easy walking to all of the shopping and activities of Shelter Cover harbour and fireworks, the beach, and there are 2 pools (one usually quiet and the other usually full of kids) and a hot tub that make the resort a great fit.

We have stayed at Sunset Pointe over one dozen times and have had a wonderful visit each and EVERY time. This resort is one of the best run Marriott resorts. Staff is engaged and friendly. The pictures do not show the beautiful heated main pool, tennis courts nor the views of the Cove. It is within walking distance to Shelter Cove where there is shopping, restaurants and views of the cove and the boats. The Disney resort is across the cove as well. Due to the excellent maintenance, room refurbishings are completed before the previous furnishings are worn. While the resort itself is smaller than other Marriotts the rooms are the same square feet with all the amenities. Master bedroom with King Size bed, Large jacuzzi tub overlooking Sunset Cove. Kitchen, washer dryer and the same items as in other Marriott 2 bedroom timeshares.

If you want a relaxing vacation in a central Hilton Head location, Sunset Pointe is a sure thing.

Liked the smaller, quieter atmosphere. Shuttle service (free)will take you to beach (1 1/2 mi. away) or shopping/restaurants nearby. Shuttle always arrived 5 minutes after calling for them. My teenagers could come and go as they wished and I could stay at the beach. This was nice. Marriott has nice beachfront area and bathrooms on beach for use. Some minor construction in progress but this did not bother us. Room was recently remodeled and was both clean and large enough. A few upkeeps were needed (light bulb out/telephone static) and maintenance quickly responded. If you don't mind not having an ocean view, this is a great smaller resort. I would definitely return to this resort.

Disapointing for a Marriott. Units are small and condition was average as of 2004. We had plumbing problems for most of our visit.
