Each suite boasts a private lanai with a view of either the ocean, waterfall pool, or gardens. Each suite is complete with a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and washer/dryer (studio units do not have a kitchen or washer/dryer).
While at the Kauai Coast Resort, treat yourself to a day of pampering at Spa Makaiwa, a unique Hawaiian day spa. Indulge in a Chinese herbal wrap, or work out the knots with a deep tissue massage. When your afternoon at the spa is complete, head to Hukilau Lanai Restaurant for a culinary treat. Sip a glass of wine on the torch-lit lanai overlooking the ocean and choose from a menu of regional flavors and ingredients.
Kauai Coast Resort recently underwent a $10 million refurbishment and now offers a swimming pool with natural rock formation waterscapes, a children's pool, ocean side jacuzzi, plus extensive landscaping and a cascading water feature at the main entrance. This resort sits on eight acres of beautiful beach front property within the Coconut Marketplace, featuring more than 70 shops and two theaters.

Just returned from our vacation here. Were here on a Shell Vacations Explorer Package. Stayed in Unit 1303, which had a view of the ocean. The unit was comfortable and the staff was very accomodating. We did have some small insects in the kitchen area and also the carpeting was pretty dirty in both the unit and stairways. Between the sand and the red dirt of Kauai, it is understandable. They would have to replace the carpets very often in order to deal with this. The bed was fantastic-- we had just come from the Cliffs Club in Princeville where the lack of A/C and the poor mattress quality was disappointing so this bed was truly heavenly!
Overall, I would highly recommend this resort due largely to its location and amenities. The beach out front is very rough in wave action and lots of coral reef there to get hurt on........ definitely not for kids or for non-swimmers. Lydgate State Park is a beautiful beach for kids and adults both, very safe, and I even saw a turtle there while snorkeling. I guess that's a pretty common sight on this side of the island, but it was all new to me and definitely a highlight of my trip! I definitely would stay here again, as long as I could guarantee myself an ocean view room, it makes such a difference.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this resort is. We stayed for 6 nights in a 2 bdrm ocean front unit with beautiful views. It was clean comfortable and fully equipped with a very nice kitchen. Nice pool, very friendly staff and a really good restaurant on site. The resort is close to everything. The beach is nice but a little rough for swimming. A better swimming beach is just a 10 minute walk away. I highly recommend it for a family vacation.

we had a great time at the kauai coast resort. service was outstanding. the rooms were well appointed and cared for. grounds were as well manicured as could be. we enjoyed the pool, and the nearby bar. the hot tub SHOULD have been off-limits to kids after 8 pm -- too many rug rats in and out of the tub destroyed the ambiance, for sure. with that said, we cant wait till our next visit. oh -- we liked the small town feel of kaapa (however you spell it).

We have been to this resort 3 times, and loved it each time! Grounds are immaculately maintained, rooms are spacious and fully equipped. Pools and beach are great! The restaurant had delicious fresh fish specials every day. The poolside bar, and the lounge bar also were nice to relax.
Kapaa is a great location for people like us that like to drive to other parts of the island - 15 minutes to Lihue, 30-40 minutes to the south coast, 45 minutes to the north shore. Plus there are local stores that are less expensive and within walking distance.
Can't wait to go back next year!

We found this resort to be delightful. The unit was well equipped, and the bed was greatly improved once we had an egg crate placed on top of the mattress.
The staff was friendly, the grounds were immaculate and the restaurant was delightful. Kappa is a good central location -- and we will return to the Kaua'i Coast.

we were there in 2003 and fell in love with the place; a beautiful romantic resort for both a couple or a family; the grounds are gorgeous, condo is decorated beautifully and restaurant on grounds has great food & very reasonable prices for " a nice dinner"; it was wonderful on valentine's evening being in the hot tub right by the beach & watching the palm trees sway with the gentle breeze and the moonlit sky!! also, the hammocks by the beach are great to relax in;loved walking the path right along the beach with some shaded trees as well

We have stayed here before in 2001 and found it still lives up to RCI Gold Crown standards. The room are very nice, clean and well maintained. The grounds are also lovely. We had a little problem with the room safe -- maintenance came right away and fixed it and we were not charged for its use. We ate at the resort restaurant one night - Hukilau Lanai - and were pleased there as well.

Had a very nice time Oct 12-16, 2003. Units were large and clean, with pleasant decorating. Odd thing I have noticed in some T/S's lately is the sliding glass doors to the lanai go one way and the drapes, the other. What's with that? It's difficult to leave the slider open just a little and still have the majority of the door covered for privacy.

Other than the beds being too hard, this is how I would build a resort if I had the opportunity. It is relatively small, which give it a very intimate feel, and the units are designed and furnished as well as any timeshare units that I have ever stayed in. (Much better than the Embassy in Poipu, although not quite as large). The grounds are landscaped very nicely and the pool is quite adequate.
While Kapaa should no be confused with a great resort area, there are a few nice restaurants in the area and, as Kapaa is centrally located and Kauai is a relatively small island, its easy to get to other nicer areas within a few minutes drive.
However, as timeshare point systems generally work to the disadvantage of the buyer, I wouldn't purchase a unit here.

Kapaa is a good central part of the Island to stay. It may not be a touristy, commercial version of Hawaii. If you want that go to Waikiki. There are plenty of dining options nearby. People are very down-to-earth in Kapaa.
Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy is a very nice timeshare resort. The facilities are outstanding. The units are very well furnished and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is definitely one of the nicer timeshare resorts I have seen.

Kapaa is the armpit of Kauai. It is full of hippies and people that look dirty even while their swimming. Go to the north or southshore. Trust Me. The Beach Boy (kauai Coast) is another low end Shell resort, It is a leasehold property and is another Shell Points resort. The points are a complete rip off!!!! BEWARE

Great Hawaiian coastline with serene beach and lively reef for snorkling. The grounds are immaculate with good sun/shade mix. Friendly service, beautiful suite rooms with all the amenities, and how 'bout the beach boy at the pool!
