Stayed 9/9/07 1 BR - very large rooms, nicely decorated, dish soap & D.W. detergent plus small box of Laundry detergent for washer & dryer in unit. King beds more firm than we like, and pillows a bit flat. End of season so carpets needed cleaned in some ares.
Management was great, called once to offer free breakfast & tickets to theme parks if we would go to timeshare presentatation, but we declined and they never called again.
Very secure gated community with Publix grociery and Walgreens nearby. Shuttles to all theme parks and shopping mall for fee.

This is one of the best places to stay in Orlando. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The nightly music by the pool was a welcome addition and the place was great. Drinks by the pool and beautiful surroundings convinced me to purchase a 3 brm lock out unit. The rest of the family loved it so much that they also bought units so we can all be close together. We look forward to going back for many years to come. Jerry in Texas

I find it amazing that some people just seem to be able to find fault with any resort. I can't imagine that anyone could find any problems with Summer Bay!
We, along with other family members, have rented at Summer Bay for the last 5 years in a row. We had stayed at many other resorts and hotels in Orlando, but when we found Summer Bay, we knew we had found a special place.
Now we have bought 2 weeks there and my other family members have bought there also. We enjoy the resort so much that now we don't go to the parks as much so that we can enjoy the amenities at Summer Bay.
The units are always very clean and very well supplied. If we ever have a maintenance problem, the staff has always been very prompt in fixing the problem.
Our teenagers and younger children absolutely love the resort. Summer Bay Resort is truly like our second home!
We LOVE it!!!!!

I had to write this review after reading the last one. We stayed in a 2 bed/2 bath unit. It was very clean. It had everything you could want and need. We would go back in moment.

This was our first exchange with RCI - what a disappointment! Upon entering, our bathroom floor had tons of hair all over it. Also, it smelled like urine. After I saw the bathroom, I decided to take a clorox wipe to the kitchen table - - WOW! Filth beyond belief.
The Furniture was beat and the bed sheet was dirty. The AC was broken, as was the dryer.
The entertainment center had a space for a 35" TV, but we had a 19" instead. Also, NO DVD player!
On the positive side the put-put golf was fun and only $3 from 12 -3. The pools were great.
We went for the timeshare tour (From $50, I negotiated up to $100 for our 1 1/2 hours.) Obviously, we DID NOT buy!

Awesome. We stayed there on a timeshare presentation in Aug 2005. We thought that we were going to stay elsewhere but they checked us in at the condos. The 1 bdr was terrific. It had a washer/dryer, sofa bed, full kitchen, vesitbule, and 2 tvs. The facilities were great (Pools, mini gulf course, kids water attractions, beach front. One of the best accomodations that I've ever stayed in. I hope I can visit as a real guest soon. Update: We have now stayed in a 2BR in AUg 2006. It was even better. Again, it was on a timeshare tour and yes, again we stayed in the condos. This package was awesome. Amentiies were great, rooms great!! With a denny's basically on site you can't lose.

This is an very nice resort. We had the two bedroom condo in one of the older buildings. We were very pleased with the room. It was clean, well stocked, well decorated, and comfortable. Nice pool area by the main office with sandy beach, kiddie pool, and tiki bar. We had two teenagers 15 and 16 ... they liked it very much also!

I have owned a 3 bedroom lock off for about 6 years now. We always love spending 2 weeks there every January. Have found the help to be very friendly and johnny on the spot if we call with the slightest problem.
I have been in the wonderful new units, but always request the same older unit, upstairs, overlooking the lake rentals, hot tub & pool. It is soooooooooo relaxing to sit on the balcony eating, drinking and relaxing and listening to the music at the pool.
They have installed new carpet. The only thing I miss is a recliner. ha ha.
It is even better with their new mini-mall. Grocery store, pizza parlor, library etc. Makes a wonderful place to walk.
Try it you will like it. I own another timeshare in Kissimmee and it is for sale, but you can not pry me away from Summer Bay.

We rented this time share for a whole week. The accomodations in one place were enough for two families and it was very clean, and the folks at the clubhouse were excellent for any additional needs. They have a variety of activities for everyone! We are hoping to find another great rental arrangement this coming year during spring break again at the Summer Bay Resort!

This is truly a great RESORT! The units are clean, comfortable and the staff friendly. We always enjoy vacationing here and ignore reviews of people who just love to complain about every little thing!!! We found this to be a top notch resort in every way and will go again and again!!

We stayed at Summer Bay first week in March. Our 2bedroom unit was very nice, in a brand new building. Wec ould walk from our patio about 12 steps to one of the smaller pools in the complex, there was also a spa tub next to it. Pool towels are available only at the main pool. The lake stuff was OK, nothing great. Small beach area, it could easily be quite crowded. The convenience store is more of a gift shop than anything else. They had more "stuff" than food or other supplies. The front desk staff were very nice. We managed to escape doing an RCI tour, which they try to get every RCI member to do, even if you tell them you're not going to be buying.
Nice room overall, 7 miles from main gate of WDW, then farther to a park. It was a great deal for the price we paid (less than $200. for 7 nights) but I don't think I'd pay too much to stay there, especially if you wouldn't be in one of the new units.

We had a 2 bedroom unit during January, 2003, and when we checked in our unit we found the carpet to be in terrible shape-filthy and worn. Even though everthing else looked OK, we did not want to stay in that unit. We talked to the person next door in the 1 bedroom unit and he asked us in to look at his unit. His carpet was as bad as ours. We went back to the office and complained and they moved us to one of the two newer buildings and this unit was very good. Maybe if enough people complained as we did, the units would be fixed up

One drive through the Summer Bay entrance led me to believe I was entering another world--a tropical paradise with lovely pastel buildings, a lakefront clubhouse and a tropical pool reminiscent of a Caribbean retreat. Our 2 bedroom condo was exquisite, with lots of ceramic tile, a private balcony and a "Queen of Sheeba" master bedroom with ceiling drapery and in-room jacuzzi. Maintenance and housekeeping were wonderful; if we needed so much as a light bulb, they responded instantly. My favorite memories were recounting our days at Disney over dinner on our balcony overlooking tropical foliage and a sunset. The perfect place to unwind, in an area that has so much to offer.

Stayed here 2002. Awful experience. Dirty, had unexplained charges to credit card, high pressure sales. Not a good experience. Much better at other area resorts for less money.

Extremely high pressure sales. Do not stand behind their word after making a sale. Extra charges put on our credit card that could not be explained by the resort. Facility very nice, but rent'---don't buy.

Gated resort. So close to Disney. Units are beautiful and spacious. Resort overlooks a gorgeous lake. Has water toys on the lake. Trampolines, jet ski's paddle boats etc. Have been there evey year for the last 5 with never a bad experience. Pool overlooks the lake. Kids can play in the beach sand while you sit near the pool. Has a tiki bar too! Drink Specials every day! Offers shuttle service to the parks. Convenience store on property and Publix supermarket right outside of gates. I love it here!

I own two 3 bedroom units at this resort and love it. It has Key West style charm. It is situated on a lake, where water sports are available, or you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets by the poolside tiki bar. BBQ grills are provided throughout which make it nice. Disney is just 5 minutes away. The staff is very accomadating and the units are nothing short of beautiful.

We have stayed at Summer Bay many times. We are owners there. We found the units clean and complete. The amenities on site were first class. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There was some confusion in arrival dates and check in. Make sure there is a mutual understanding of these.

Found the apartments at this resort very sparse and containing insufficient equipment.
Bedding was dirty and the whole apartment needed a good clean. Was so bad RCI moved us to another resort which was no problem
