Situated on a beautiful rocky stretch of Maui coastline, Kuleana Club offers quaint one-bedroom timeshare units set in a quiet tropical landscape. Each one-bedroom unit features a queen bed in the bedroom, a sleeper sofa in the living area, fully equipped kitchen, and a private lanai which is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee.
Spend your days lounging by the resort pool, or climb the ladder down to the ocean for wonderful snorkeling and swimming. Kuleana Club also provides ocean side barbecues lit by tiki torches for a romantic dinner under the stars.
For a truly unique experience in Maui, view the beautiful landscape on horseback. Journey back in time to stunning natural beauty that is only easily accessible by horseback. Take home the memory of a lifetime as you witness breathtaking views such as the Palikea (silver clouded ridge), the source of a stunning waterfall, Waimuki, dropping more than 400 feet into the mysterious forest of 'Ohe 'O Ka Po.

Stayed in an ocean view room on the ground floor in Dec 04. Fantastic to be able to walk straight out of your unit right to the ocean. Older property that is very well maintained. Turtles visible almost every day right from the shoreline. Wonderful sunsets. Good snorkeling right off the shore (a bit tuff on the entry/exit....). Many (most?) of the units are whole ownership, not timeshare, and the permanent residents are very nice. Close to all the good stuff on west Maui, including Lahaina. Would stay at Kuleana again in a heartbeat!

Stayed here in Aug 1974 and again in March 2005. This is a nice, clean condo, right on the ocean. No air conditioning in the units, but ceiling fans make it very comfortable. The grounds are professionally maintained and really capture Maui's beauty. Very nice pool and tennis court. A good place to "get away from it all" without having to be around large crowds of vacationers. Views from the room are amazing with the islands of Lanai & Molokai just across the channel. The quaint town of Lahaina is only minutes away. In 2010, I purchased a week 32, ground floor unit in bldg 4 which is just a few steps from the ocean. It doesn't get any better!

My wife and I just returned from one week visit. We went to evaluate whether to buy a two week resale.
We had a great time in our groundfloor oceanfront unit. We did our daily swim/float/turtle hunt right in front of the complex. Turtles everyday right below you. The previous reviews are all correct about the grounds--very nice. The pool is large and warm. There is a small sandy beach but we used the ladder to enter the water--then drifted/swam parallel to the shoreline and exited on a beach about 150 yds away.
We logged many hours sitting on our patio--about 30 ft from the water--just staring at the view. The sun sets directly in front of you with Lanai and Molokai framing it--simply unbeatable.
The Timeshare staff and the rental office staff were all very nice. The full time residents and the timeshare owners were very friendly as well. It was like we were all part of something special--a hidden jewel of a resort.
So, you can tell that my wife and I really enjoyed our stay there--and we intend to buy two weeks (at least) there. However, there are a couple of things potential visitors should know.
1. The units are all one bedroom with queen beds. We wish they had kings. 2. Families with smaller children/grandchildren would need to be super vigilant about the ocean. The rocks can cut your hands and feet and the waves can be substantial--for a child under 10. 3. Wifi present in the lobby and most outside areas, but not in the units themselves. (I loved sitting on the lawn at ocean front with 180+ degree views with my laptop) 4. Very basic, small units. Our kitchen was very adequate but we never really cooked. 5. Lack of air conditioning was not an issue for us--and it was pretty hot last week. Ceiling fans and the ocean breezes were fine. 6. TVs were very basic.
That's about it. Very few negatives (for us). Very relaxing, very romantic, great location and unparalleled setting.

Stayed at an ocenfront ground floor unit in December 2006. It was like heaven on earth. The ground floor oceanfront units are the best units here since you have an unobstructed view of the ocean as well as the ability to walk out from your unit to the ocean.
The staff was very nice and even gave me an extra pair of abandoned sandals when my luggage was delayed several days! Most unusual dedication to pleasing everyone.
The barbecue units right on the ocean are awesome. The staff cleans them spotlessly every night. You could be barbecuing your dinner while swimming in the ocean or swimming pool at the same time since the activities are so close to one another.
In the hotels, it can take as much as 10 minutes to walk from one activity to another which saps valuable vacation time.
This is a do-it-yourself vacation not a vacation in which you are waited on hand and foot as in Four Seasons Hotel (which happens to be the finest hotel in Maui and elsewhere).
If you are going for a 3 day stay; go to the big hotels as they are better suited for a short visit. If you are staying for 5 days or more stay at time share units like this little jewel of a place.

Unbelievably relaxing resort! No noise, very tranquil, best outdoor pool in West Maui, and tremendous sunsets and oceanfront views. I saw whales breeching from our patio.
