The Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino is a hotbed of activity from morning until night. The luxurious property offers accommodations with balconies, 3 pools, 15 restaurants, 6 lounges, Crystal Casino and Seaport Casino wth 24-hour gaming, the Okeanos Spa and fitness center, four acre Wilhelmina Park and jogging trail, a children's program, 40,000 square foot conference center, 6 Cinemas, Crystal Theater with the popular 'Let's Go Latin" show, a world class marina, the only private beach on Aruba - Renaissance Island, a tennis court also located on Renaissance Island, and more than 130 shops right on the premises, so guests will never lack for something to do.
It's popular with families because of its comfortable one-bedroom suite accommodations, which all are equipped with a full kitchenette.
Another plus is its location in Oranjestad, near shopping, dining, and activities galore. Right next door is the Seaport Village shopping complex, which offers a plethora of fun shops, restaurants, two casinos and a movie theater. Just a 10 minute drive from the resort you'll find 18 holes of championship golf at the Tierra del Sol Golf Course.
A fabulous touch is the ferries that run directly from the hotel's lobby to offshore Renaissance Island, which offers a full range of water and beach activities.
Guests can make an appointment at the Okeanos Spa for a variety of treatments.

Just returned from 2 weeks in timeshare, our 9th year. We return because there is nothing else on the island that is as unique as the Renaissance and its surroundings. To stay in either the low rise or high rise hotel section of Aruba would be the same as staying at a Holiday Inn at Myrtle Beach.
Absolutely make reservtions for dinner at Pinchos Grill & Bar. It is on pier over the water with best sunsets in Aruba and is a mile from the resort.
We have made friends with the local people and look forward to going out with them every year. We stay in contact throughout the year.
This is a fantastic place and we are glad we made this choice a few years ago. We have expanded our stay at the Ocean Suites from one week to three weeks. It is an Aruba experience and safe, very safe; as is the whole island.

I own two weeks at this resort Wks # 28 and 29, and have traveled here every summer for last seven years. I think the Aruba Renaissance is the best kept secret in Aruba. Although generally the hotel, its beaches and pools are quite lovely, the private island with the white sand beaches where you can snorkle the wrecks and reef from the island are awesome. There is never problem getting a beach chair and you dont have to get up early and reserve it like the hotels on Palm Beach. The daily happy hours and friendly staff have always contributed to our pleasant stays.

We have a timshare here at this resort, we love it, we have the 52nd week. So we celebrate either Christmas here and New Year's Eve. It is such a blast!! The poeple here are so friendly. The staff is so eager to help you. The restaurants in the area are fabulous. You must have them make reservations for you, to Madam Janette's. One of the best reataurants on the island. We have a huge family that joins us every year and there are about 22 of us, all with children. This is my favorite island and resort by far...

We were in the resort in late November for 2 weeks. We had some problems getting necessary household items. Dish cloth, egg lifter found we had to speak directly to housekeeping. A lot of trouble with the computer connection in the room (hardwired) and the fee for the service was ridiculous otherwise we love the place.

Just arrived back end of January, 09. We find the resort lovely and have never experienced the difficulties that are described in these other reviews. Really appreciate the Marriott management of the resort. I always felt the resort wa terrific but it has been improved upon even more. It is not crowded and you can get adequate and relaxing space on the beach. The pool is not crowded for a premier resort isn't during high season? I do not agree or understand many of these negative comments. It appears to me to be just angry people who could never be pleased no matter what was done. We are very pleased we purchased and have made friends with other unit owners who are there at the same time. We eat in restaurants almost every evening and don't find them any more expensive than at home in the states (Northeast USA). We cannot wait to get back in January and watch the sunsets in Aruba. I also enjoy the golfing opportunities and recommend the 9-hole Divi Links over Tierra del Sol as it doesn't tie up a whole day, not as windy and can arrive back in time to enjoy the beach and hotel. Of course you can play it twice for 18 holes if necessary for a minimal second round fee.
