The Inn on the Harbor units are a little small, but roomy enough to accomodate four people comfortably. They are nicely decorated and very clean. The kitchen area is well-stacked with everything necessary, as is the bathroom. The staff is probably the friendliest and most helpful staff we've ever encountered anywhere!
Most of the rooms overlook Newport Harbor, so you can't beat the location. The Inn is on Thames Street, close to all the best restaurants and shops. The visitor's center is a short walk away, where you can find out about all that Newport has to offer, plus catch a bus or a trolley to the many area attractions.
We can't say enough about Newport. It has become our favorite vacation spot because there is so much to do and see there and in the surrounding areas. We have stayed at the Inn on the Harbor many times in the last several years, and plan to visit again this summer.

We stayed here in January, 2006. The views were great, but the accomodations really need to be updated. We were in a 1 bedroom and it was very small. We found some nice restaurants and the shops were fun too. Newport is a wonderful town with all the history and mansions. The drives were breathtaking and we will definetly go back.

The Inn on the Harbour has a great location. Our one bedroom was adequate for 2 and could accomodate 4 in a pinch. The staff is terrific. The overall condition of the establishment is very good and it seems our room had been recently refurbished.
You have walking access to just about everything and the restaurant on the lower level is good and reasonably priced.
About the only negatives would be the room noise carries a little and you are only guaranteed one parking space.

Just loved this place. Close to everything...the staff was great. The views spectacular. No pool, but we did not even miss it. Went to Cape Cod for a day, to Jamestown, to Providence on the bus (RIPTA)....($6.00 round trip for 2..what a deal) and the resort had a bus trip to Foxwoods for a day that we took. Had a great time, also spent time at the beautiful library in town. Found a great breakfast place, the Franklin Spa diner...early bird breakfast for $1.95! (between 6-8 am.)
