Built in 1997 and 1998, this beautiful resort features New England shingle architecture, making it a perfect fit among Newport's abundance of historic Colonial homes and 19th-Century mansions. The resort even features a surround sound movie theater. Guests can enjoy boating, fishing, croquet on the lawn by the resort's barbecue pavilion, or walking to the Newport Fisherman's Wharf. Sailboats bob in the harbor, and there are numerous fine shops and restaurants in the area. This is an area that abounds in beauty, history, and excitement.

We stayed in July after having not visited for four years. The units have been completely redone in a seaside cottage motif with a palette of soft blues and greens. The kitchen is well stocked. I couldn't help noticing that the dishes and utensils where sturdy and a little oversized which, I thought, made kitchen feel a little grander. The bathrooms where nicely done and the bath products were also more upscale.
All in all, this is a gem of a resort in an excellent location, under new management and well on its way to regaining a Gold Crown rating.

We have stayed here three times so far and were very happy with the resort. We have made Newport, RI our summer and sometimes Christmas (kids willing) getaway. The resort is very clean, staff pleasant, lots of activites, things to do in the area and places to see. Close to downtown Newport (walking distance), Thames Street, visitors center, etc. Pool area is very nice. BBQ grills available in the pool area as well as picnic tables to enjoy a poolside gathering. On site movie theater is a big plus for kids and adults. Comfortable seating and popcorn! We have stayed in both the main building and the townhouse units - all units were in great shape and very quiet.

We take the family to Long Wharf Resort every summer. Great family place with indoor and outdoor pools and some childrens activities. The free outdoor gas grills and picnic area are great for poolside cookouts. You can walk to any of the Newport hotspots from there. The rooms are large and amenities are more than adequate. We will continue to make the Long Wharf our "summer getaway".

We just returned from our visit to this resort - stayed in a two bedroom. It was "adequate" - but not a 4 star place. The furniture was OLD and uncomfortable - worn down. The unit needed to be redone. It was worn.
The amenities were nice and the location was super - that is its biggest draw. The pool was crowded and is too small for the size of the resort. We used the laundry but mainly went into town. My sons used the fitness room and again, its minimal but "will do." The master had a jacuzzi bathtub and shower.
This is an okay place for a week, but it is not luxury. We would return again but would NOT buy there. Wyndham is switching over to points and it would take about 300,000 points to get the same unit we rented for the week. We would only rent and would not swap our deluxe resort for a week at this place. Its fine to see the area.

We just returned from vacationing in Newport. Our unit had a 2nd bedroom but I don't know how comfortable more than 2 people would have been as the living room was quite small. There was no closet in the 2nd bedroom and very small dining area. No washer/dryer in unit, altho laundry was free in the next building over. Front desk staff was very helpful. You could walk everywhere from here.
