Description

Wyndham Sea Gardens creates the perfect family seaside vacation. The resort is located just across the street from the beach, where you can bask in the sun or splash in ocean waves. Take a dip in the crystalline waters of the three on-site swimming pools (one is heated). The area offers several water sports to enjoy. Practice your serve on one of the seven tennis courts two blocks away or play shuffleboard on one of two shuffleboard courts.

Formerly known as Sea Gardens Beach and Tennis Resort.

Older style resort which has mature landscaping, nice pools, and lots of activites at the resorts. Ongoing updating of units has reopened the North Oceanside building in the past year (very nice). The front desk and checkin area just opened to welcome all guests in the lobby building north of the old lobby. Old lobby will be redone as the new activities and game room with a planned Wii and PlayStation gaming systems, most liking opening in late 2010.

A new cafe opened in mid July serving breakfast and lunch pastries, coffee, oatmeal, etc from 7:30 to 4PM daily. Very clean, reasonable prices and daily specials - enjoyed all foods I "sampled" ... including chocolated covered strawberries.

Wifi is now available at a small cost in most units this year; free is interent still available in outdoor patio area by cafe or inside the new lounge area while sitting on multiple sofas and comfy stuff chairs. Beautiful grand piano here also for guests' use.

Overall, the resort is trying keep all areas in good repair and to update/improve its units and public areas. Enjoyed my stay.

Magnificent!!!! Stayed in both the South bldg & North Bldg this year. North bldg apparently just reopened this year after being gutted due to the hurricane.

Biggest studio we were ever in. Big bathroom & semi-dressing room. Jacuzzi tub and the best is the stacked washer/dryer in the bathroom. The kitchen had everything you would ever need. The bathroom area also has a 10ft closet with an electrinic safe. Queen size bed and queen sofa bed.

You can't get closer to the beach. All rooms seem to have an ocean view. Very clean . Friendly staff. These units are nicer than the ones on the west side of the street.

We've been fixed week owners at Sea Gardens for six years now - and continue to return because we just love the resort. Sure it has some things that need to be repaired, I'm sure all resorts do. They took a big hit when Hurricane Wilma came thru and are still continuing to repair the units that were damaged the most. But the staff always delivers cheerful smiles and fun activities every single year. The area offers plenty of things to do - with a beautiful beach across the street to great restaurants and shopping only a few minutes down the road. The gardens are just glorious...and you have your choice of four pools to choose every day! We love Sea Gardens and will continue to return every year.

Had a trade here 3/29-4/5 and we were quite disappointed. While the resort appeared to have some nice rooms, ours was unpleasant. We were located in the North Cabana building on the first floor. We were 12 feet from the pool out our front windows and five feet from the resort dumpsters out our back windows. We were unable to open the blinds on any window which made us feel like we were in a dungeon. The 1 bedroom unit had 2 baths, full kitchen, but was very small (about 360 feet). The floors were ceramic tile which were cold and sandy. There was no rug--even on entering the unit and we had to use the bathmat as a rug on entry to the unit. While the resort is very large and has 4 pools there was a serious lack of pool chairs and they had to be reserved early in order to enjoy the pool. The hot tubs had alot of debris. The resort was not well cared for and we were told that it is still dealing with damage from hurricaine Wilma (several years ago). We were invited to give comments about the resort in excange for a cruise and dinner--we agreed thinking it might be helpful to them. When we had our meeting we were given a piece of paper to write our concerns and that was the end of attention to that. We were immediately engaged in a sales presentation for Wyndham points--that was a bait and switch. We said no and they were curteous. We excited awaited our dinner cruise and arrived to watch the boat leaving the dock. The paperwork we were given following our presentation had mistakenly given the incorrect time for departure--they apologized for their mistake and offered to mail us dinner coupons to our home. We have not received them yet and do not expect we will ever see them--so BEWARE. On our return home we discover several exchangers who were scheduled to take a shuttle bus to the airport which never arrived. Fortunately we were able to bring them to the airport and they were able to get their flights. While much of our experience was unpleasant, we did find the beach very nice and enjoyed the ability to go the the sister resort Vista and use their pool and fitness room. The fitness room at Sea Garden was in poor condition. We also attended and enjoyed the Laua at the resort and did meet some nice guests. In summary, we are not likely to return to this resort.

We stayed at the Sea Gardens for one week in Feb. 2008. The pool/garden area is just beautiful with palm trees, flowers, water fountains, hot tubs all around the area, loads of lounge chairs at the pool. Our suite was in the big building, with 7 or more stories and attached to the 4-story parking garage that you need to press a code to get in.

Other sections of the resort are adjoining both sides of the pool/garden area and if my memory is correct, they are 2 stories with stairs (no elevator). There's a Tiki bar for cocktails and Karaoke entertainment, other activities, a BBQ out by the Tiki bar. The other area is across the street with another pool and right on the beach, although not all units are facing the ocean. We talked with a couple staying there and they are nice but not large units. Our suite was spacious - good-sized kitchen, LR area, eating table area, very big master BR w/king-sized bed, a large jacuzzi, very large vanity (lots of room to put your "stuff"!) and a separate bath area with a super huge shower and the best water pressure we ever had; a guest BR with 2 dbl. beds (that we didn't use) and another bath. A washer & dryer off the foyer too.

The view at night on the balcony was beautiful, all the resorts lit up everywhere and we could see the canal with boats whizzing by. Only disappointments were no internet service (we had our laptop) and no VCR, just a DVD player... I brought some programs I recorded and couldn't see them. Check-in at 4 p.m. took a while, long line. We attended the presentation and got a free boat ride on the Wyndham's private yacht down the canal to see the gorgeous mansions on the water, plus a free dinner at Joe's Riverside Grille and it was delicious. We'd been there before for dinner just a few nights prior. We met a lot of nice people on the boat... you bring your drinks - alcohol or whatever and they supply the setups. Really nice resort, and they have loads of beach towels in the linen closet for you to use. Checking out was fast and they told us we could use the pool area for the rest of the day if we wanted. We enjoyed the resort. Carleen & Ken
