Villa Vera Hotel & Racquet Club

Not sure how it is now but in October 2003 when upgraded from Club Regina in Cancun, it was wonderful. We were on our honeymoon. We had one of the one bedroom suites with a shared pool originally. Seeing that it was not crowded we inquired about the villa, really a hacienda farthest up on the hill. After a day or two we were transferred. The villa had its own rustic outside kitchen and pool. The staff fixed us a terrific candlelight dinner. Tennis courts and spa on premise. Location is central on the Bay, so going right onto main road to shopping and town or left to the other beautiful resorts and restaurants was convenient. I also happened to get a kidney stone while on honeymoon and staff was terrific getting me to a decent hospital and doctor for treatment. Convenient by car to the cliff diving and sunset beach where the lagoon they filmed some of the Rambo movies was shot. We tend to go to the Cancun location due to its shorter distance for us and lower airfare from east coast.

When my husband and I arrived, initially we were a little disappointed. There are many steps and hills at this resort. After a couple days, however, the serenity, staff, the beauty and uniqueness and privacy of the resort totally besotted us. As many of the famous stars who stayed at Villa Vera, you never have to leave. Allow them to totally pamper you. You will not be disapointed. Make sure you see the grounds. If you close your eyes, you can almost hear the ghosts of the famous old stars.
