This is an amazing resort! Having an
opportunity to stay in a 17th century castle is
one you will never forget. The main building
has several common rooms open to all the
guests including a library with an honour bar -
you help yourself and pay on checkout.
There are indoor and outdoor pools, a spa,
two game rooms featuring foosball, ping
pong and two regulation snooker tables (like
pocket billiards only larger), a croquet field, a
putting green, a pitch and putt course and a
badminton court (indoor no less).
There are only 14 units, so during the week
we barely encountered the other guests. The
neighboring villages are charming and just
dripping with history. Our favorite was
Gloucester - the Abby was used extensively
in the Harry Potter movies.
There are nine units in the main building and
five 2-bedroom units in the newer manor
house. Opt for the main building if you can.
The units are nicely furnished and feature all
the modern conveniences even if the
kitchens are a little small.
