We spent a week at the Coral Mar in Feb
2006 and the only reason I didn't give this
resort a 5 star rating is because it is not on
the main beach. The staff and grounds are
absolutely lovely- the condo was all that we
were promised and more. We rented a car
and the staff arranged for the company to
come right to us and pick us up and the car
return was just as easy-
The cute little beach along the lagoon is just
fine for laying around and reading- if you need
to go for a walk you are right at the end of a
lovely residental area which is nice and clean
and safe to walk around even after dark. We
had our 13 year old daughter there with us,
she was a little bored, as there is not a lot for
her age group, but she was happy to make
smoothys, lay by the pool and read and listen
to her ipod!( there is a computer for everyone
to use for a small fee- be clear about the time
you want it - the staff will even call up to your
room when its your turn)
There is one cute little grocery store on site
which has whatever you need- banana's ,milk,
salsa- we rented the car and went into
Cancun to the Walmart right at the beginning
of the week- lots of great food/meat/alcohol-
beautiful pineapples, juices etc...
We were also able to use the B B Q in site to
cook our T-Bone Steaks one night- we tagged
along after a family was through using it- they
bought their own charcole. ( Probably at Wal
mart).
It was easy to find our way around- drove out
to Chichen Itza- it is a long way with
expensive toll roads- be aware. A tour from
the hotel would be just as nice if your not a
good/calm driver.
We had no problem whatsoever dealing with
the owner- we sent him a cheque for the
week- We would deffinately go there again-
