Melia Vacation Club Paradisus Playa Conchal

We just returned from a week in "Paradise" - what a wonderful resort, with great service. Our accomodations were wonderful - large king size bed with a superb mattress - we slept like babies. The pool and grounds are awesome and the staff friendly and accommodating. We did not go "all-inclusive" and there is a snack bar where hamburgers and/or hot dogs & fries and chicken breast sandwiches are available for a very nominal sum ($4 for hotdogs, about $7 for hamburger etc). We also ate at the Beach Club which was great and very reasonably priced. Two good local restaurants "Outback Jacks" and "The Happy Snapper" are within a five minute drive from the main gate, with decent food and decent prices.

This is one of the loveliest spots in Costa Rica and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was too bad the negative reviewer did not really check out all Melia Vacation club has to offer. We did not eat in any of the onsite restaurants as we thought they were a little high priced for our budget (there were 6 of us) but we would return again and again and it would not "break the bank" but I would recommend renting a car.

On a tour of Costa Rica we stayed at this hotel and loved it so much we purchased a timeshare there. We returned for our 40th anniversary, also bringing our family.

The service is very good, the room is clean, there is a safe in the room, a small "bus" to drive you around the colorful resort grounds. It is gated and well lit.

A breakfast and dinner buffet is available and we purchased that. Other restaurants are there also.

Very large pool area and live music at mid-day. Fun ATV rentals and water sports as well as a golf course and tennis courts. This is really a great place for families.

A medical practice is on site.

It reminds me of "Fantasy Island" that used to be on television. You will not be disappointed.

I have been on better places food too expensive 4 small pizas for $27.00 that is the least expensive food in the place the buffets are $37.50 per person childrens pay same amount to go out the resort and go to the nearest town is $40.00, I made 5 phone calls with a credit card to family to say we where ok it came out to $325.00.

I will definitely don't go back!!!!

We stayed here twice. Once in Feb.2000 for one week and again for 2 weeks Xmas and New years in 2001. We loved the resort, the rooms, the restaurants and the service. The grounds are beautiful. The wildlife on the grounds was unbelievable,from the birds all around your rooms to the monkeys in the trees around the pool area. The pool was huge and the beach was great for shell collecting. We would go back for sure!!!!
