Chelan, Washington, United States, North America 98816
Lake Chelan is not your average lake. Resting at the foot of the rugged peaks of the North Cascades, this long finger of water points like a loadstone to a truly isolated parcel of America. Though the lake is 55 miles long, you can only drive half its length. Beyond the end of the road, snowcapped peaks rise over 9,000 feet from the lakeshore and thick evergreens cover the mountainsidesperfect for hikers. There is, however, an outpost of civilization at the upper end of the lake. The tiny village of Stehekin is accessible only by boat or floatplane, and a must-see when you visit Lake Chelan Shores. If its pristine beauty and a multiplicity of outdoor activities youre searching for, head for this deep, clear, mountain lake sparkling in the sun. Visitors rate this as a premier vacation spot, and return again and again to enjoy all it has to offer.

Stayed here in Sept. of 2006. 1 BDR was a joke. not enough room. If we would have brought the children it would have been horribly small. moved the dining chairs to get to the living room. deck was about 3 x 8 with BBQ and two chairs. exterior building in disrepair, room was as good as a cheap motel if not worse. grounds were absolutely gorgeous though. staff was pleasant. this is not the typical WM resort I was accustom to staying. Plenty of activities to keep one out of the room though.
