We stayed there in February and the skiing was great and Canaan Valley Ski Area was great, and that is the only reason I give this place 3 stars. My kids love to ski, so we had a great time. BUT...there was nothing else they could do there at that time of year, and no kids activities. No place to take them in the evening either. And the townhouses were so outdated, with early 1980s decor, and the bathroom was looking very shabby, wall paper coming off, and it was not very clean either. The carpet in the living room was gross. It's hard to stay at a place like that when you are on vacation. I wouldn't stay with relatives who have houses like that, I'd go to a hotel.

The Canaan Valley is an expensive second home development for some wealthy families who know the secret of a civilized vacation village near the East Coast. This timeshare resort provides a very nice alternative to renting a home in the mountains.

This is a fantastic 4 season resort area.

Great resort Well managed & pleasant condo living. Near 2 different but magnificent WV State parks.

Great skiing near 2 ski resorts. Not for the timid!

A neat slice of WV at its finest.

Do NOT expect Disneyland, but nature lovers will delight.

Rooms are large two-level (townhouse type) two bedroom units that have been recently remodeled. Great fireplace in living room/dining area. Full size washers & dryers and large, home sized, fully equipped kitchens. Dramatic cathedral ceiling in living room. Sliding glass doors lead to a nice wooden deck.

This resort is also very convenient to two, practically adjoining ski resorts and two magnificent state parks with extensive hiking. Golf course is also very close. Town of Davis is fun too. Being high in the West Virginia mountains, temperatures are delightful in summer and appropriate for great ski conditions in winter.

This resort is in a beautiful location, and very quiet and peaceful. Staff couldn't be nicer. They have several trips planned each week and all ride in the resort's 15 passenger van (or follow behind in own vehicle). It's a great way to see the area with a resort guide to tell you all about it. Units are well maintainned and well equipped. I would highly recommend this resort for a fun family vacation.

Spent a long weekend here. Very restful. A smattering of sightseeing, skiing and resting. Unit nicely maintained, good restaurant nearby. Unobtrusive staff.

Would consider going back
