Great ideas here; hope this info is accessible on the website for newbies to see. Also, I am a big fan of Redweek. My first experience was as a renter; not an owner. We planned 5 nights in Maui at the Marriott hotel in Wailea, requiring 2 rooms for a family of 5. Somehow I bumped into the Redweek site and I rented an owner's week at the Maui Ocean Club. Used only 5 of the 7 night rental. My wife and kids were jazzed with the villa; I was jazzed that I spent over $1000 less on the rental, compared with 2 hotel rooms. That was 2008 and we made our first timeshare purchase that week. Since then, I have rented out my week on Redweek several times and used the proceeds to cover my maintenance fees.
