I recommend putting in for the Royal Islander, Royal Sands, and Royal Caribbean, as you will be guaranteed a view from each of these resorts. I love The Royal Mayan, but there are a few villas that have a lagoon view and unless you know which villa you are trading in to, you may get a garden or lagoon view.

My parents own at The Royal Resorts (Beach front at The Royal Caribbean) and no other Mexican resort we have stayed has compared. I think if you broaden your search through Interval, you will get one of The Royals. We use a Kona Coast, Hawaii week to get another villa at The Royals each time and have always gotten the trade. Jesus, who deals with the inventory at The Royals, has been great about getting us ground floor units too, as we have a handicapped child so we prefer being pool level. :-) The hospitality and service at The Royals is superb. You won't be disappointed weather you are in Cancun or Playa. It is a great vacation!
