I have a few questions for some of you experienced Royal Haciendas vacationers: Are pool towels provided by the resort? Are the kitchens stocked adequately, are there some spices already there? I know in other resorts the spices have been left from past vacationers... How much can one expect to spend at the resort on a meal? And what is your favorite restaurant in town? Thanks for your expertise.

The Royal Resorts DOES provide pool towels. You simply give them your villa #, and check out towels from the equipment desk. They also have other things - like tennis racquets, golf clubs, bicycles, snorkels, fins, etc. As far as kitchens go, they are well equipped, but not with spices...

I always bring a small bottle of liquid dish soap & a sponge. They provide powder soap for the dishwasher, but it is nice to have the liquid soap if you want to wash something by hand.

Prices of meals vary, but resort restaurants are affordable. I haven't stayed at The Royal Haciendas yet, but the other resorts have dinner items ranging from $10-25 for entrees, and kids meals cost less than $3. Happy hour is from 4-7 p.m., where drinks are half-price.

Talk to the concierge at the resort for restaurant recommendations. Many restaurants partner with The Royals and offer a discount if you show your resort card.

I like La Parilla in Playa del Carmen... Senor Frogs is always fun too for casual dining and drinks.

The mini marts at The Royal Resorts are great too, but we always start out our week with a visit to Super Walmart to buy the essentials. We also pack a few food items in our suitcase to get by until our Walmart run.

Hope this helps!
