Re: Royal Hacienda (by Kathleen C.):
Somehow we got a beach front at VCI late January 07' and when we checked in they asked if we requested one which we didn't but couldn't have been happier. Obviously they do not mind people requesting better villas. I'm enjoying reading what everyone is writing about the Royal Haciendas so much since we bought week 48 (Dec 1st this year) and I can't wait to go and we are in building B1. I was told the loud construction would be over on that side by that time. If anyone has young children VCI is a wonderful Royal resort with it's gardens and very calm beach. The Sands, the Mayan, and the rest of the royal resorts in Cancun have rougher beaches for little ones but teenagers would love it. VCI is on the Northern side of Cancun which is similar to a bay and the others are more in the open ocean. The Mayans pool isn't heated since they only have about 5 years left on there lease and the owners decided not to spend the money on the heater. VCI's pools are not heated also but it was one of the most beautiful, clean resorts i've ever been to. Even when it was full you never felt there was a lot of people there. Have fun I bet you will love the Mayan resort!

What villa were you confirmed to? Look on your confirmation page on II and it will tell you the unit #.
I love La Palapa (the outdoor restaurant) at The Royal Mayan. As long as your villa is ocean view or beach front, you will be very happy. If you did not get confirmed to an ocean view villa, you can email the resort and ask to be changed. They can not guarantee a switch, but will try to make it happen if there is available inventory.
