Kimberly. I very pleased about the shuttle, gives me second thought about renting a car. Do you any gossip about the Haciendas???? Did they do the welcome party, Taco party for the resort???? Is the restaurant inside by the bar area open yet??? Alicia
We did do the taco party and the food was very good. It only costs about $10 for a taxi ride into town (playa del Carmen) or you could walk the beach and get there in about an hour. The only restaurants open at this time are the main restaurant on the beach and the pool bar has a restaurant. Food at both restaurants is very good. The only complaint I have at this resort is the lack of restaurants. I hate having to cook on my vacations but you can go into playa and shop at wal-mart for groceries. I prefer to eat out and not have to cook on vacation so It would be nice if they had some more restaurants. It doesn't really sound like they are going to have any specialty restaurants for quite a few years. The buffets at the restaurant on the beach were very good. Food is rather expensive for a family of 5. We normally travel to Mexico and stay at an all inclusive because it saves us a ton of money for food and drinks. I would not buy a drink other than happy hour because they cost around $8-9 a drink.
