Re: Reasonable Offer? (by Phil L.):
Sorry but I do not! I would in most cases rather buy from a owner than realtor because of higher prices.
You should also check other sites for your timeshare and write down all that fit your plans. Enter all of them when you make your offer! It wasn't clear when you said you rent same week every year. Does this mean your sister owns fixed week and if so this will narrow your search down to only one week of the year.
You might still be able to work a deal for this year because remember your offering to buy their unit after renting it so they would much rather rent to you this year over someone just renting.
This is also a no lose for a owner because they get their unit rented for this year and possible sale too which is what their hoping for!
The one thing you have going for you is you already know what type unit you want at this resort even though the owners wouldn't know this!
Just remember that some owners will tell you your out of your mind and still be asking couple years from now why they get no offers. Of coarse by then you will have bought the unit and season you want from someone else!
Dale (our friend) would tell me how he would get e-mails telling him off and then stating if he wanted to up his price to contact them. Had to laugh because his answer back was always very short and to the point and it was "NO THANK YOU".
Some of these same owners would e-mail him couple weeks before going on vacation and want to deal and again he would just say"NO THANK YOU".
GOOD LUCK! PHILL12
