Re: IBD-MARKETING . HAS ANYONE HEARD OF OR DEALT WITH THEM ? (by Chris S.):
It's pretty simple.....never ever pay a fee to sell your timeshare beforehand.....no matter what.
The companies just move from name to name....website to website....creating new names once they have been lambasted on blogs on an old. They never sell....they quote sales prices that are lies....they quote that they are able to give tours of resorts they are not.
Unfortunately, the vulnerable are the people that don't realize their $30K timeshare has depreciated to 1/10th it's value and when they hear someone state they will get them $30K at sale, they get suckered in and pay the $500. They still have a $3000 timeshare and now are out $500 effectively lowering the price to $2500 net.
It's pretty easy to figure out the value of your timeshare....look at others and yours will sell near the bottom of current listings. Same as regular real estate. Look at prices and that is what yours is worth. If the resort isn't a dust bucket that hasn't been updated in a bad location, you can keep lowering the price and it should move.
It's all a crock....don't sell through them.
