I don't know much about MROP, other than that their associated facilities are primarily located in the western U.S. However, I do have many years of personal experience with VRI, the management entity at several different resorts at which I either own now or have owned in the past. In my personal opinion, VRI is about "as good as they get" in management companies. I've seen lots of management companies over the years, including some really bad ones; VRI has always been consistently pretty darn good, in my view. If you paid a reasonable resale price and can afford the annual fees (and inevitable increases) without hardship, I can't see how your purchase could prove to be a "mistake". Enjoy it.
