thanks to all of you,and jayjay...is there any reason I would need a service or would benefit from one, rather than just working straight through an attorney?I'm assuming there would be additonal costs, and if so,is it worth it? thanks.

Oddly, you will most likely find that using a closing company will cost LESS than hiring an attorney directly. That's because closing companies have established relationships with particular attorneys, who in turn grant a price break to the closing company as "acknowledgement" for the legal work provided by the closing company.

You should expect a closing with JRA Services to cost $250, maybe very slightly more. You would not likely pay any less (and most likely, you would actually pay more) by going directly to an attorney to engage his / her services.
