PCC's: bad or worse? (by KC):

Second, these PCC's routinely go in and out of business all the time, changing their names and their internal company practices, etc. Time No More and We Collect Timeshares, to cite just two specific examples, have already closed down operations and "disappeared", leaving people in limbo (AFTER taking their money). Accordingly, anything I (...or anyone else) may tell you in regard to a specific PCC could be 100% correct today --- and then suddenly become completely wrong tomorrow. I always try to adhere to dispensing ONLY information or advice which I know for a fact to be solid and reliable. Can you refer us to A FEW of the PCC's who do put the ownership in their own name? We are becoming one of those truly desperate since there seems to be absolutely no legitimate company that you can sell a Timeshare to and since there are over 1700 on ebay you can't give them away. There has to be a legitimate way to get rid of them. Thanks for your help Ken.
Rather than pay a PCC the financial equivalent of 5-7 years worth of annual maintenance fees, save yourself a few THOUSAND dollars by instead spending a little on advertising --- even if only to advertise an offer to give it away for free. Even offer to pay the closing costs, if necessary (figure on about $300 for that). Use sites like Timeshare Users Group, RedWeek, Bidshares (free), Craigslist (free), MyResortNetwork. Personally, I can't (and I won't) EVER recommend using ANY PCC under ANY circumstances, since it is virtually always an unnecessary and overly expensive way to part with a timeshare ownership.
