Successful Resales & Rental Feedback Wanted (by Robert S.):
As I understand the process, the westgate unit was listed on red week for $250. and had a real interested legimate buyer. Since I had used the transfer agent in branson, mo on previous sales, the same agent was utilized. The process is that any timeshare has 30 days (after they were notified of the pending sale) the FIRST RIGHT to purchase the timeshare unit. The transfer papers and noticed was faxed to westgate on 7/17, the letter from westgate was dated 8/5, and the postgage on the envelope was dated 8/23 (still late) and the forms were received by branson transfer agent 8/27. Even the post mark date on the envelope is over 30 days. I called westgate , Tiffany Chisom, at 407-355-1000, ext. 51089, of course she knew nothing and would get back with me. meanwhile, I sent 3 certified letters to coporate office in florida, no replies filed complaint with BBB. only 632 complaints have been filed, and 7 serious complaints. also letter to Missouri att. general (a waste of postage). that was on 8/29, no replies from anyone except the usual form letter from Travis Dudley, office of citzens services, Florida Attoreny general's office, Tallahassee, Fl, 32399, and phone no. 866-966-7226. the other reply was the 2012 dues notice from Westgate. I have come to the only remedy is to have a number of concerned citzens that have owner ship in timeshares in Missouri, (of course may be owned by corp, in Florida), is to start writing Linda Wagar, Problem Solvers, CHANEEL 4 TV, KC.MO. In some way, the general public needs to be aware of all the "underhand dealings" by timeshare corporations and refusal to answer any more complaints. The citzens of missouri are paying the attorney general office a salary, and also the same with the citzens of florida, so there is no incentive for any correction activity from these offices, As I understand it, the Missouri attorney general has "closed the book" on any bankrupt complaints on French Quarter. The same situation when I have a complaint with TAI, in mount julies , TN, the attorney general just printed what ever TAI, printed as a respose to my complaint. bottom, line, the only way that I have resolved two other copmplaints is to read Ron Burley book "Unscrewed". so far, I have used chapt. 1, and chapt.11. no I do not receive any royalties on this book),(he used to write for AARP,) very discusted timeshare owner.
