REdWeek is merely an advertising site and not a middleman. You have already paid your RedWeek membership and advertising fee. Therefore, you need not pay RW anything for the rental. The renter would pay you directly.
One recommended avenue for paying is via Pay Pal. Many owners also require the renter to pay the full amount upfront before booking in the renter's name. Then, the owner(s) would tell the renter that if he feels he might need to cancel, then get cancellation insurance.
As for damages, that should be laid out clearly in the rental contract/agreement. You can find a sample one here on RedWeek's site.
