As Lance stated above the RCI Point System and the Wyndham Point System are two completely different point systems.

I don't know who you called but renting or selling deposited points or weeks and exchanges are against RCI's policy .... perhaps Wyndham allows you to rent deposited points/weeks/exchanges in their system but RCI does not.

I would have to ask if you talked to Wyndham or RCI.
