Where is your unit located? Is it deeded, a vacation club, or a Right-to-Use? If it's one of the latter two, then you don't actually own anything. The club may bombard you with collection calls and letters as well as threaten to ding your credit rating. Outside of that, if you just stop paying maintenance fees, they will likely terminate your membership or "repossess" your RTU.
