Everyone also thought Bernard Madoff was a good honest person.

Hi Sharona. Are you saying that someone told you Omega marketing was being shut down? I received a response letter to my claim from Omega marketing through the BBB last week. They did not say anything about Omega being shut down and me getting my money back. Could you tell me who exactly gave you this info. I'm going to check on this myself. I will contact the BBB of Florida to confirm, because I have a claim filed with them with the BBB and my bank, it seems as though I would have been notified of this info. So would Jill and everyone else on this blog who has filed a claim against them. I will believe it when I get my money back and contacted by someone legitimate.

The BBB is useless in the upfront fee scams since they claim you name your own price for your timeshare (which in 99.9 % of cases is an outright lie since the upfront fee company says they can get meg-bucks for your timeshare or that they have people standing in line for your timeshare) and then you hand over the upfront fee which IS ALL THEY WANT. If you file a complaint, file it with the attorney general of the state in which the resort is located.

Hi Ginah, The company that told me that Omega was being shut down was called something like "ICare". I asked them twice to repeat the name, because that is not what appeared on my caller ID. I spoke to two different women. They spoke very fast and had New York accents. "Accatel" is what appeared on my caller ID. Their phone# is: 954-653-2113. They said they were allowed to resell Bluegreen points and when I told them Omega Marketing had my account, they said they were going to be shut down by the state of Florida because there were so many complaints about the Omega. They said they could recoup my money if I signed with them before Omega was closed down. After being burned by one company and probably Omega, I don't trust any of them. I haven't been home today, but on Monday I'm calling Bluegreen to see if they can verify "I Care" or Accatel as another company they support. This really bothers me that there are so many dishonest people in this field! I'll let you know what I find out Monday.

It's good not to trust right now. If this company is asking upfront money, really don't trust them because they are probably no better than Omega. They may even be lying about Omega being shut down to get you to sign with them. That's a good idea to call Bluegreen, then I suggest you just don't sign with anyone. We don't know who to trust nowadays. There are so many scammers, even ones who don't ask for money upfront.

NEVER, EVER trust any company that asks for an upfront fee in the hundreds of dollars NEVER .... they're all scams.

I called Bluegreen today, and just as I suspected, the company who called and said Omega was being shut down is not affialiated with Bluegreen in any way. I really believe they were a scam, too. Beware of all these people!

I have finally gotten the letter together and am enclosing bits and pieces from many posts and other websites regarding the scaming going on. I now am going to send the details to 20/20, 60 minutes and Nightline, which I hope helps. Everyone keep their fingers crossed, and I will let you know when I hear back from someone. If I don't hear back from one of the three of them, I am going to start contacting news stations, politicians, and anyone else I can think of. (I will do a little research on this to find out the bet channels.) Let me know if anyone has anything else to add, and I will post more details from the letter later. Have a nice week, all. Jill

Good Jill. Don't forget 7 On Your Side. They have been in business for years and have been very successful. Just go to their website and put in your complaint. Also, I think that we can impact them greater with numbers. Maybe you can send one of those emails that can be passed around to everyone who blogged and we can add our names to it. Then send them the email or print it off and send it to them. I think that numbers matter when it comes to getting issues like this out there. You have alot of us willing and waiting to help you. I've already sent my complaint to 7 On Your Side, about a month ago, have not heard a thing. But I know they have so many various complaints from people, so I'll give it a litte more time. Keep plugging away everyone, we can shut them down.

I am responding to the many people who have had dealings with Omega Marketing Solutions. They got $695.00 out of me in October 2006 and have done nothing to sell this time share in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I also have had many calls from Realty Trade and they also want your money up front to sell your time share. They are another scam. Do Not deal with Omega or Realty. I doubt I will ever get my $700.00 back. I live in Indiana. Omega's address is 36181 east lake drive in Palm Harbor, FL. I would love to get my money back.

I'm very happy that things are being done to complain about all of these so called companies. I had another call today from the I Care Company (the one that said they were authorized by Bluegreen). When I told them I checked with Bluegreen and they are not authorized to sell Bluegreen the woman totally changed her tune and said I had misunderstood. She said they were authorized by the owners who wanted their points sold. We got into a big hassle when I told her I couldn't trust any of these companies. I'm glad you are contacting 20/20 and Niteline. I think that 7 on Your Side would also be a great place to go. Let me know if you need any help. I'm just furious about all these dishonest people. Can you send me that information about contacting 7 on your side? (the address to reach them). If you have a physical on, that is. Thanks for the encouragement, the letters are sent. Let me know if anyone else knows anyone else I can contact or any local newspeople in your area. Getting the information out there any way possible is good, and you might just be able to save someone in your community. Have a good week, updates later. Jill

Jill, I went to abc.com. There is a link there for 7 On Your Side. I think that this is the only way now to submit a complaint to them. Maybe if you call the ABC network, they may have a physical address where you can send a letter.

Jill

I hope you make some progress submitting a letter to 20/20 and Nightline. Omega has taken so many people for upfront fees and does not respond to phone calls or emails. Has anyone filed a complaint with the Attorney General? I am just curious. I would love to get my $695.00 back.

Jill

If you need my signature to file a petition or complaint against Omega you will will definitely get it from me.

These scammers are probably taking a vacation in Europe somewhere on our dollars.

We are part of a Madoff scheme. He probably owns Omega.

I was taken too! I would be interested in signing any petitions, or contacting the T.V. along with all of those currently involved. Has a petition been started? Class action? Please advise, Lisa

I sent Omega over $1000.00 over one year ago and of course have heard nothing. Whenever i call they tell me they are about to close a deal but of course they are just making that up. I am so glad someone is trying to do something about then and if there is anything i can do to help I would be happy to

Why hasn't anybody started a class action law suit against this company? I would be willing to participate. They got over 750.00 from me two and a half years ago, and I too have yet to hear from them.

I consulted with a lawyer friend regarding class action and he advised that the best way would be if each person filed in their small claims court...Omega would have to send a lawyer to each court, would not want to deal with expense to travel to each city and would most probably settle out of court. Only the lawyers make money in class action, payout per person is generally very small. I am filing in small claims court.
