Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos

Tips on relatively inexpensive restaurants?

Oct 27, 2006

Hi,

I plan on staying at Pueblo Bonito this spring. I like to eat out, but not pay exhorbitant amounts of money to do so. Any advice on good restaurants that are reasonably priced and a close walk from Pueblo Bonito Blanco/Rose?

Thanks!

Aloha - - Go to La Gondolarina (the Trailer Park) once0 the portions are HUGE, include complimentary early courses, and we get a second meal out of them the next day. - There is usually a local whose wife makes really REALLY tasty tamales - ask any of the PB lifeguards standing on the beach, they'll let you know when he arrives (usually 11-12). He takes your order on the beach, then returns an hour later. Oftentimes daily specials include a meat tamale (chicken, pork or beef) as well as a vegetarian (we've tried the apple, potato, or vanilla raisin all with favorable results) The charge when we were there has been about $1 per tamale. Last time we bought a dozen and fed 4 of us for dinner along. -PB has very reasonable room service - also, they used to let you order off the kids menu- same burger, half price. -Well worth the reasonable price- Mi Casa (both the original and the newest one which is within walking distance to PBB and PBR. Enjoy!

when in cabo every morning, we have breakfast at The Office on the beach. it's excellent - scenic and tasty food. our friends had the same breakfast for a few $$ less at the Sand Bar.

we usually recommend the pool menu at the Rose' for all day munching. it's awesome food - for around $6 per meal.

the restaurants on the marina will entice you with daily dinner specials - walk the whole pier before you decide. most of them are good.

for a treat, check out Edith's - behind the Office - ask for directions. that was some of the best food we've had, but not so cheap.

trailer park and Mi Casa as noted in the other post are must do's.

mango margaritas are so good.

Polo del Oro, and Mogambo in town. The first has good chicken and ribs and the second has good seafood. Both are inexpensive and local spots. Ask the conceirge for directions. they are near each other in town.

I know that this is probably too late to help you, but maybe someone else who needs the same info will read this. There are numerous places to eat in San Lucas which are good, inexpensive and within walking distance of Pueblo. Out favorite is El Coral - an open patio with great all you can eat ribs for around $14, an amazing Seafood platter for two for $32 dollars which includes: sea bass, shrimp, crab, lobstr, calimari and more. The owner Roberto is very attentive and friendly as is all staff.

What a good steak or sea food? Walk to The Sotplight (real close to the Pubelo side of town) Prices range from $9 - $15 . Good size menu.

Really on a budget? Hit the Plaza de los Mariachies (Sorry for the spelling). It is located right across the street from the Gigglin Marlin. For $4 you can get great baked potatoes stuffed with cheese and beef or chicken or pork. They also have beer and taco specials which start at around $5. Also hit Tonga Tonga (on the main drag after the curve) They have great Jalepano Poppers, cheeseburgers, and more for only $3-$4! Beers are only $1.50 and they also have cheap mixed drinks.

Want a real fast meal, or something to take back to the beach? HIt the City Club Store, only a short walk away! It's just like Costco... you can get $1.50 hotdogs and drinks, or $3 pizza, etc. Most of the time we walk right into the food-court area with no problem. You may get stopped though and asked for a membership card, which you can purchase for the day for only $1.
