Are there any decent restaurants or buffets in walking distance?

Yes!!! The Casino next door has several restaurants (buffet, steak, italian, mexican, etc..) and right across LV Blvd is a neat little place with great food. It's called 'The Boulevard'.

The "oyster bar" in South Point Casino is tremendous. We ate there 3 times in one week.
