HSI Sheraton Buganvillas Puerto Vallarta Mexico

Oct 13, 2014

Just bought a timeshare at the above mentioned resort. The vacation rental and the service is definitely exceptional. However, we are first time buyers of a timeshare. Is this all legit? Straight up company your opinions. Is the exchanges easy and fairly comparable to others areas where HSI operates. Opinions. I am reading and some of the experiences seem fairly vague.

First of all, did you buy at one of those sales presentations or did you buy resale? If you bought at one of those presentations, I strongly suggest that you rescind your purchase if you are still within the 5-day period.

Secondly, how do you know that "The vacation rental and the service is definitely exceptional"? Did you actually stay there for a week or were you shown this by the sales person?

Also, buying in Mexico is generally not recommended because you can usually rent from an owner for less than the maintenance fees. Also, when the time comes that you no longer want your unit, it can be a headache to try to rid yourself of ownership.

We have stayed there twice in one of the units and we bought a resale contract for a low price. So if this is all BS we aren't out any retirement funds. Mostly wondering about the HSI service itself and staying at other locations and the ease of use.

Search TUGbbs for HSI. They have a fairly detailed thread from 2009. Since you bought resale and can't rescind, you just have to make the best of it. It seems to be an exit program that Mexican resorts offer if they can't sell them a timeshare.
