You can no longer list your last minute rental on Redweek

Redweek just keeps the surprises coming.

We had a last minute change to plans for our summer vacation and I wanted to list my week at Newport Coast for rent. Surprise, surprise Redweek no longer accepts listings within 21 days of check-in. It is getting more and more expensive/difficult to list with Redweek. Maybe this is a Marriott problem?

Not only can you not list last minute units you might have and offer at cheap price just to sell them, now I can’t even change my dates on the listing and they removed Additional Information from the listings. Yes, they are getting more expensive and very Strict, I won’t be posting new rentals on this site, this is ridiculous.

We used to use eBay. Do you know where you will be posting? I guess a quick google search can give me ideas.

I use Tug2 and Craigslist and EBay, not the best sites but something better than nothing CL is Free and Tug2 is really cheap and EBay is ok. The other sites online are very expensive with very little foot traffic

Redweek use to be cheap at $35 but now they went into this mandatory reservation verify so now seller and buyer get charged extra fees

Oh and I also use Airbnb

If anyone has other inexpensive sites, please tell us.

Thanks, Hector Rodriguez Aka: KingOfCaboRental

I wanted to list my Newport coast oct 11-18 but can only do it through them, with $59.99 fee plus $99 if rented! Have to find another way to rent this property

I also use Tug2, it's like 25 free listings for a $15 annual fee. Dashweek will list your weeks for free, as well as Consierge Realty. Dash week lets me go on the site and monitor and change if necessary. Redweek has gotten out of touch with their prices. It was only $29.95 a couple of years ago and now it's $59.95. They have recently been bought our by new owners and now have all these new policies! How about an additional $99. success fee on top of the listing fee. How does that work with someone renting a lower level or partial week? Some of those, you're lucky to just get your Maintenance Fee back. Now, we have double the former listing fee ($29.95 to $59.95) and another $99. fee for success! Then on top of that, they are charging the renter another 10% fee in addition to that. I used to use redweek for all my rental weeks, the ones I rent myself and the ones that I rent out. I tried to rent a Westin resort last week for $5295. and they were charging me another $500. plus on top of the rental price. How ridiculous is that? I was able to find another rental on Dashweek and saved alot of $$$$. There is no risk to redweek, as we don't get our money back until 2 days after check-in. Why then the exorbitant prices, with no risk. We, as owners have the investment in our timeshares and many times just trying to get back our M/F. This redweek site used to be a very friendly user site. All timeshare rental companies charge a fee to the consumer, but most other companies will list for free and not charge you the extra $99. for success for the rental. If you don't have a popular place to list it is totally a waste of money. If you do have a place to rent in high demand, you have to share too much of it with redweek. They have been turned into just another money-grabbing company, though they do it in a friendly manner.

Hector, try using Dashweek or Consierge Realty. They list weeks for fee for me. You can modify it with Dashweek yourself. Why be held hostage with redweek/

If you anyone has Oct 11-18 available at Marriott Newport Coastal Villas I'd be interested in renting that. We saw a few options available for those dates yesterday and both disappeared today.

This is the reason I made this post. As of now, the postings are deleted several weeks before the date you are looking for. If you are renting or leasing last minute, Redweek is not really an option anymore. We are very spontaneous travelers so this is a real disappointment for us. Perhaps we will see more weeks go back to interval international again.

Thanks so much for the info about different places to list now that they have introduced this new awful fee structure!

Can someone please verify exactly how many days in advance we are allowed to list a place?

TUG2 might be your best option. $15. fee for the listing. I remember when Redweek used to be a customer friendly organization. Many of their customers prefer the DIY plan, which they took away a few months ago. They now want a % of every listing, on top of us paying $59. for the listing and a $99. success fee. And they ding the renter a 10% on top of the rental fee. They get you coming and going!
