Kona Coast Resort Reviews & Ratings

We love it here. The grounds have frequently won landscaping awards. The walkways and flowers are wonderful. The resort is not on the beach as there is a golf course between the units and the ocean, but the views are still wonderful. Maintenance of the units and facilities is very good. Whenever we trade timeshares, the salespeople at every resort we go to have heard of the Kona Coast resort, and it is held in high esteem. We have been on a couple timeshare tours mainland where the sales people showed photos of the Kona Coast Resort, boasting that this was one of the places you could trade to if you bought a week at their resort. Too funny!!! We took great delight in telling them we already owned there.

Stayed here the last week of October. These units are big. We had 6 adults in a two bedroom unit and we never felt cramped. The only real complaint is that the redecorating of the interiors is over due. Fabrics in the unit that we stayed in were faded and the unit just felt a little dated. But all in all this is a great choice, especially for families ro two or more couples.

Just returned from a week at Kona Coast II/ Big Island....resort was beautiful, weather was perfect, Iron Man was great.

Same old, same old - the resort is always beautiful, the weather is always perfect and the restaurants, golfing, waterfalls, beaches, volcano - everything is there to see and do.

I can't wait to go back next week and do it all again -- somebody has to.

Very convenient location and very nice staff, always ready to give suggestions for restaurants, tours etc...Large unit, very bright. We loved sitting on the lanai so much that we ate every meal there and never once used the dinning room.Plenty of room (2 br)for family of 6, and we appreciated the individual climate controls. Nothing was leftout as far as the appliances and entertainment equipment go and it was really handy having a DVD/VCR player when it poured for a day!

Plenty of activities to sign up for and many of them are free! Loved the hula class! Fun Welcome party but the "activities brunch" is really to sell an entertainment card, and timeshare pitch for a sister-property.

Only major complaints are that the unit had a "closed-up" musty smell that never really left and because it was a bottom floor unit we did have some creepy crawlies, even after they came and sprayed, but it's the tropics and those things are just always around. Next time though we'll request a top floor.

We have just returned from spending 14 nights at the Kona Coast II; our 3rd time in 10 years and can't wait to go back yet again. It is all that you can ever hope for in a resort - Quiet, deluxe, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful grounds and views, well maintained and so much more. It is, without a doubt, our favourite place on any of the islands. Try it - you'll agree!

This is definately a honeymoon resort on a honeymoon island. In one word - romantic. This is not the place to be if you are party people. If you are looking for a little romantic getaway this is the place for you. The resort reflected the island. It was huge, but never crowded. There were so many great secluded places to get some "alone time". Do this one with your better half and don't take along any friends.

Stsying at Kona Coast a few times, it still remains a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the island. Amenities are all there, hot tubs and tennis courts are great also.

Very nice property -- either phase -- it's a fully developed and mature property -- solid base of amenities. Some recent refurbs on the inside make for some nice furnishings. Classic Hawaii styling. Have used this for trading several times and it trades extremely well -- almost always with some flexibility have gotten other locations/properties I want.

We have enjoyed our stays here. We have been here twice and are looking forward to trip number 3 this summer. We keep going back because it is such a wonderful place to spend our vacation. (& the kids love it) Lots of activities for both kids and adults right at the resort eg: basket making, hula dancing etc. Ground are well maintained. Ocean view is beautiful. Snorkeling is great (lots of turtles) and the area is much less crowed than other tourist areas of the Islands.

Stayed for the first time on our resale-purchased unit and it was wonderful! The staff was terrific, the grounds and units were nicely maintained and the view from our balcony over the pool, golf course and ocean was to die for! Open, spacious unit exceeded our expectations in just about every way. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful resort. We stayed here for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversay. Two members of our group purchased. Wonderful setting, words can not compare! The beauty of this resort!!

My wife and I own two timeshare units in Kona Coast II. On our last visit, we were extremely pleased with the upkeep and improvements to the entire complex.

This is an excellent resort. The units were spacious and the location is excellent. We found the organized events to be mostly long commercials to sell tours and packages rather than relaxing social events. The poolside bar is a great place to watch the beautiful sunsets. Some units are three story walk ups. There are no elevators. There is a very limited gift shop which was closed during much of our stay.

It was the best exchange that I ever had. We had 2 bedroom unit and it was so large and very comfortable. Everything on that unit was big - big bedrooms, big lanai, big kitchen, etc. I can guarantee your stay to be comfortable on this resort.

Spacious 2 bedroom unit, pools and hot tub, outdoor gas grills, washer and dryer in unit. Beautiful grounds, parking in garage or additional space, close to grocery store. Fitness room, main pool has snack bar, activities director on site.
