Re: Vida Vacations & Grand Mayan lies (by Orville F.):

I didn't buy from the resort. Actually, I bought some kind of ripoff club deal from them for $4000 after not buying a timeshare week. But, I must say that I absolutely love this resort! I am now an owner and as an owner we go a couple times a year for a couple weeks at a time, and we couldn't ask for better vacations. We were just there in February and our service was superb, the food delicious and the weather Devine. The facilities are the best kept ever. So my advice would be to buy second hand. And if you can't seem to (get rid) of your timeshare, just ask another owner if they want it. Chances are good they will happily take it off your hands. Just be alert that I've heard some of the newer timeshares don't transfer some ownership perks, golf, vacation fairs, ability to renew after 10 years? Read contract before buying even second hand.
