Description

Pacific Fantasy is comprised of 17 timeshare units at the beautiful Pono Kai Resort, a multi-use property with several associations sharing ownership. Pacific Fantasy offers one- and two-bedroom timeshare accommodations, each with a full kitchen and air conditioning.

The Pono Kai Resort spans 13 acres of oceanfront paradise on Kauai's Coconut Coast. The resort's lush landscape of coconut palms, papaya and banana trees, Japanese gardens, herb and vegetable gardens, grasses and flowers make this an island utopia. During your stay, make full use of the resort's lighted tennis and shuffleboard courts, croquet lawn, pool, hot tub, sauna, and barbecue areas. Indulge in local customs with hula or lei- making lessons, or by checking out local arts and crafts vendors on-site. Visit the resort's concierge to book an island excursion.

There are many local attractions on Kauai from shopping to sightseeing. Several of such attractions are the Coconut Marketplace, featuring more than 70 shops, the Kilauea Lighthouse with amazing views of the northern coast of Kauai, the Kauai Coffee Company, and the National Tropical Botanical Garden, a ten mile long canyon with bright tropical flowers and nature trails.

Perfect location to start your exploration of this beautiful island. Within walking distance to restaurants/bars and shopping. Use the path by the ocean for a beautiful sunrise walk or rent a bike next-door.

This is a laid-back, no frills ocean front, resort with a lot to offer! Full depth swimming pool, jetted hot-tub, saunas, shuffleboard, putting green, croquet, tennis courts and a concierge to book activities at a discount. (Even massages on site and spa treatments nearby!)

All units (except building K, {partial/mini kitchen}), have full kitchens to help stretch your dining dollar, especially if you have the family in tow. The units are spacious enough to be able relax and really enjoy your vacation when you aren't taking in the beautiful sites or pushing your untapped limits on the numerous activities available on KAUAI.

Why pay for all the fancy and expensive resort decor, when you can enjoy the perfectly maintained tropical grounds of The Pono Kai Resort. The units are very comfortable for the small amount of time you actually are in your unit…KAUAI is meant to be experienced and enjoyed, whether on a low-key tour or fully amped-up activity.

The resort even fronts a uncrowded beach, if you don't feeling like driving. (The beach has suffered time and weather erosion, but still very adequate for playing in the ocean!) You can also walk a little north or south on the ocean path, for more beach/ocean play options!

Remember when on Kauai, that you are on "Island Time"! Grab your Aloha Spirit and go with the flow! This island is meant to be low-key!

PONO KAI AND PACIFIC FANTSAY ARE THE SAME RESORT

Kauai is the island that embodies the true hawaiian spirit of the past...The people who live here make the guests feel like no where else...The Aloha spirit is to be kind to others in the hope of their return of the favor...

This is a place that nature still rules...Nature rules with an iron fist at Sea and Kauai can get hit by big waves

The Pacific Fantasy/Pono Kai Resort has many buildings with only four directly on the ocean...there is an aerial photo at http://www.vacatsh.com or on the ultimate Kauai site

We were just there in #A303 right on the ocean....third floor... unit was older but great all around so we really loved the place...near all the activity on the eastern shore where there are more restaurants, movies and shops...

DUKE'S is about ten minutes away....Shokothai is across the street...Lydgate State beach is five minutes with restrooms, showers and great safe snorkeling, even for the tinest ones...

Bluegreen just took over so things are changing for the better with "Gold Crown" as their goal...should be given the $730 MF's we pay...

We also own at the Cliffs and this is a great second choice for another type of experience on Kauai...beach front rather than high above it and a little less aloof...

We spent week 25 here with an II exchange. The resort is conveniently located in Kapaa which allows access to both the north and south parts of Kauai. The frustrating thing about our stay was that several months before we went we contacted Pacific Fantasy about requesting a beach-side unit. We were told that we had to contact the Pona Kai desk to do that. Pona Kai then told us to call back about a week before our stay. When we did they said they didn't assign units and that Pacific Fantasy did. So the buck was passed and we wound up with a street-side unit!

After we checked in we noticed Pona Kai is managed by several different companies and when I asked how it all worked no one there knew. Another thing that bothered me is that although I am a Bluegreen Resort owner and Pona Kai is supposedly associated with them now, no one there ever heard of Bluegreen!

We did enjoy our stay. Since so many different companies manage the units, amenities vary widely. Ours had no laundry facilities and air conditioning was provided by individual units in the living room and master bedroom. The second bedroom had no air conditioning. However there was excessive noise from the street and from our neighbors above us. Also, Kauai should change its name from the Garden Island to the Chicken Island. There are wild chickens everywhere on the island and they crow not only at daybreak but all hours of the day and night.
