Description
Address:
1613 Pe'e Road
Koloa, Hawaii, United States, North America 96756

Flowing waterfalls, a crystal clear Koi pond, and hundreds of tropical plants make The Point at Poipu a special place indeed. Nestled in 22 acres of lush tropical gardens overlooking the Keoneloa Bay, and buildings no taller than a coconut tree, it is hard to believe this island paradise is actually a resort.

The Point at Poipu features one- and two-bedroom timeshare accommodations with all the comforts and conveniences of home. Master bedrooms feature a king-size bed and large bathroom with separate soaking tub and shower stall. Kitchens are fully equipped with granite counter tops, range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, utensils, cookware, dishware, and dining area. Living rooms have complete entertainment centers, and private lanais open to lush gardens or the Pacific Ocean.

In the center of The Point at Poipu is the tranquil lagoon-style swimming pool with its own sandy beach and whirlpool spas. In a more remote part of the resort is an adults-only spa for quiet time away from the kids. The resort also offers a complete fitness center, pool side grill and bar, pool hut for all your pool and beach accessories, and barbecue areas for a quiet dinner at "home."

The Point at Poipu offers guests an assortment of activities for young and old. Take an Introduction to Hawaiian Language course and learn basic words and phrases that will get you conversing with the locals. Work off a few pounds taking hula lessons, exercising in the lagoon pool, participating in the sunrise walk, or learning how to kayak. Additional activities include Koi fish feeding, swimming pool games for the kids, scuba and snorkel lessons, lei making class, and a golf scramble at the Poipu Bay Golf Course.

Ocean front is wonderful. The views are spectacular. Lots of turtle spottings. The beach continues down to a sandy area at the Hyatt. This makes for a wonderful relaxed vacation.

Nice resort. 2 Bd Room condo was excellent, clean and well furnished. Grounds are beautiful and pool is great. Morning breakfast could be upgraded but overall an excellent property.

Have been an owner for over 10 years of an even year float and consider The Point the most beautiful and most family oriented, especially for younger children. Jack O. Wood

We have purchased several units for less than $6,000.00 and the developer waived their first right to purchase. It is a great resort for the money and I suggest you only buy through a licensed Hawaii Realty broker if you want a good deal.

This is not about the resort itself but about the new management. We have tired to buy two units for every other year from redweek.com. All owners at Poipu Point have to offer their unit to the managing company for a counter offer before selling. After weeks of waiting and giving a deposit ($1000) both units were bought back by Diamond Inter. Very frustrating. They do not want individual owners to sell for $5000 or $6000 so they will buy the units back after a valid offer is made- and we had to wait 5 weeks for an answer, and then put them on the market for twice the price. Dont' waste your time making an offer on a low priced unit!

We LOVE this place.

We come here every year and it is so peacefull and beautiful. The location of the property is Ocean Front and with a Turle Cove just by the resort, where many turtles reside. We have always been very well taken care of and the front desk has responded with speed to anything we needed including changing room one year. The Point at Poipu is so close to several beaches and trails, so that if yo don't want to travel away from your resort, you don't have to. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Nice property. Condos are very nice with large rooms and updated decor. The pool and garden areas are beautiful. The shore is rocky, but the Shipwreck beach, in front of the Hyatt, is about a two block walk down the shoreline and quite nice. Great hiking along the ocean. Kuaui is very laid back. I'm glad I purchased here.

This is our "Home away from Home"! We bought about 10 years ago and could not be happier. We spend every other Christmas at The Point. We grill out every night, the kids swim in the pool, and we watch whales from our patio. This is paradise!

I stayed with husband and 6 yr old daughter for a week in November. This is our 4th time to this resort and I must say that it has gone downhill in many ways.

The Concierge was untrained and useless, they never had any info to offer and what activities they had were always cancelled at the last minute with no notice. The landscape was reduced by about 50% since our last visit and never replanted. There was no longer an internet Kiosk at the front either. Lei making classes never happened because they said they could not get flowers. What? I thought this was the garden isle? No longer offer swim aerobics class. Only 2 jets in the hot tub worked and the pool was in need of algae treatment.

The units were still very nice but overall the place was really showing signs of wear. This was a magnificent resort in the past and I do hope the new management will fix the place up. We had considered buying here but that is now out of the question with the new and very disappointing management.

The location is great and we hope they get things under control and restore the place to its earlier grandeur.

Until then, we will have to give it a thumbs down.

This resort is ideal for little kids. We had a wonderful time with our kids, never leaving the resort. We are coming back for sure, no later than a year...

The units and grounds with this resort are beautiful. I like the sandy bottom entry pool, with it being around 3-4 feet deep we can play volleyball and other games easily. The resort has activities that can keep you busy every day. The poolside service and large umbrellas make it just as enjoyable at the pool as at the beach. There are unlimited walking possibilities with shipwreck beach and the hilton just next door, as well as walking around the local neighborhood. The guest services are great. It's a beautiful setting.

We rented a timeshare at the Embassy at Poipu Pointe in Kauai on Pe'e Road. Its name is soon to change to Poipu Pointe (no longer Embassy). The rooms were lovely: granite countertops in the kitchen, tastefully decorated, and spacious enough for our family (three adults and three small children, ages six and under - one in a crib). The pool was the BEST: it has a toddler area which is sectioned off from the main pool with lava rocks. The entire pool has a beach-like graduated entry, and is no more than three-feet deep in the middle. There is an elevated hot tub surrounded by lava rocks which welcomes children, and a separate adults-only spa in another area of the resort with a lovely fountain and nice, powerful jets. The grounds have a gorgeous koi pond which wanders and is highlighted with waterfalls and tropical plants. There is a koi feeding at 8:45 am at which children come to view and feed the fish. There are also waterfalls in the pool. And a volleyball net. There is poolside bar/restaurant service for reasonable prices (a pina colada here is $6.95 vs. the $9.95 you will pay at the Hyatt). They have a breakfast buffet for only $6 per person. The ocean views are breathtaking, and if you walk toward the surf you will see huge seaturtles swimming near the tidepools. You won't be swimming this beach, but Shipwreck beach is a short walk away (still not friendly for small children with its strong undertow, red flags, and surfing-waves). Poipu beach is a short drive away, with a sectioned-off area (via lava rocks) for the toddlers, a play structure, lovely sandy beaches, and a shave ice stand across the street (under Brenneke's Restaurant). The staff here at the resort is responsive: a simple request for an extra dish towel or wine opener was fulfilled within minutes of request. There is no business center or use of a printer, but your PC will allow internet access for $9.95 per day (and there is internet access for a fee in the lobby). The concierge desk is friendly and fast, but book your activities weeks before you arrive. We're glad we booked waterskiing before arrival, because kayak guided tours, ziplining, and ATV tours were all sold out island-wide for weeks in advance. We never heard back from our wait lists (but don't blame the resorts - it's a popular place for adventure!). Fear not: if you haven't booked a group adventure, there is plenty of hiking and beachcombing around the island to keep you busy all week. Any tourbook will show you trail maps and lookout points. We've rented at three different condos/timeshares over the last nine years, and this is our hands-down favorite. We've also visited family at one other rental. All of them are nice and priced fairly for what you get, but this one really knocked our socks off. We had a wonderful vacation and plan to stay again, and will certainly recommend it.

Stayed for a week April 06. Views are varied with oceanfront for owners. we stayed in 3207 2 BR that actually was a walkout to a patio with a tiny view of the ocean. The grounds are well maintained. alot of walking to get around grounds. Really enjoyed bingo using Hawaiian language and made our own leis for our wedding vow renewal. On a cliff up from the water, no walking or swimming on beach here. But, beaches only a few minutes drive away. Koloa (10mins) for groceries and stores. Loved the area and would definately go back.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Resort from the Saturday after Thanksgiving '05 to 12/3/05 and had a great time. We are a family of four and we spent a lot of time at the sandy bottom pool, and at the nearby beaches and restaurants.

We saved a lot of money by buying some groceries and having breakfast and some lunches in the suite since we had a full kitchen in our unit.

Embassy has several BBQs for your use by the pool so we had Steaks sent to us directly from Ohama Steaks that we BBQ'd one night. They were awesome!

We had 10 minutes of rain on only one day of our entire stay. That was it! The weather was fantastic! 75 to 79 degrees everyday.

Excellent grounds keeping, very clean, and all of the service staff were top notch.

You have to check this place out for yourself!

We love this resort! We've been to Kauai 3 times and this is our favorite place to stay. Insist on an oceanview room and you'll be rewarded with beautiful views of the sunrise, dolphins, and whales. Don't forget to visit the turtles that can be spotted feeding in front of the resort every day! The lagoon pool is excellent for children, not too deep and very beach like. Lots of activities daily!

The unit was beautiful with great ocean views. All activities at your finger tips. The grounds are gorgeous as well. The only disappointing part was the pool, it is only 4' deep which is great for children but not for adults who want to swim laps.

Exceptional property, well maintained and operated. It exceeded our expectations as soon as we walked in the door. Staff is excellent, views spectacular, and grounds beautiful. We are very pleased with our decision as Poipu is our favorite worldwide destination.

This is a fantastic resort in every aspect. You will not regret choosing this resort for your visit to the most beautiful of the Hawaiian islands.

Two bedroom units have a full kitchen (well equiped) with a washer and dryer in the unit, a spacious living room, two full bathrooms (master bath has a tub and shower), and lanai or porch. Choose your unit carefully depending on your preference for ocean view or garden view as well as level.

If you are into sunrises and sunsets, you can enjoy both for your very own unit (not many places in U.S. that you can do this!) and you have your choice of watching the waves crashing onto lava rocks or onto a beautiful beach. It's just a short walk to one of the nicest beaches in Kauai, fronting the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Poipu.

The grounds and swimming pool area are fantastic. One side of the swimming pool is sand. There is a vast array of waterfalls and streams that lead down to the pond filled with Koi fish.

ENJOY YOUR VISIT TO EMBASSY VACATION RESORT AT POIPU POINT!

We visited the property in Jan of 2004. We exchanged through RCI, got a garden view unit already assigned and waiting for us when we arrived. We asked for an upgrade to an oceanview and the staff was very accommodating. She even went as far as showing us pictures of views from 2 different types of oceanview units to help us select a unit.

The resort has nice grounds and pleasant staff. The lagoon pool is definitely the highlight of the resort - our 3-year old absolutely loved it! However, I didn't give the resort a 5-star for several reasons. My husband and I are spoiled and we missed having a nice gym and spa. The gym at Embassy is barely adequate and it did not look appealing enough for me to even use it. There's no general store or nice restaurant on site - we had to drive out to get milk for our 3- year old.

The room itself is well sized but showing signs of aging everywhere. The resort recently finished updating all the kitchen appliances, therefore they were in good working condition. However, the living room feels dated, and the bathroom tiles could use new grouts. We were told that the resort is in the process of updating the living room furniture, so I'm sure it will look better soon. The second bedroom is small and did not come with a phone or TV. The air-condition units are extremely loud; we couldn't leave them on while sleeping.

Overall, it was a nice stay, but I agree with the last reviewer completely: given a choice, I will definitely stay with Marriott.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit in June 2003. The place is pretty spacious and is right next to the ocean. However, if you want to swim or snorkel, you need to walk 5-10 min to Hyatt or some other place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They rent snorkeling gear, boogie boards and even golf clubs at a very reasonable price.

One drawback is that the units are pretty old and show signs of age. In our unit, the dish washer broke and flooded the kitchen. Air conditioners are noisy. There is no restaurant on site other than the poolside bar, so you need to walk to Hyatt or drive to other places. There isn't much night life in Kauai. But you won't be bored looking at the stars. I have never seen so many stars so bright and clear.

If I have a choice between Embassy and Marriott, I'd choose the Marriott. They tend to have better location and better amenities.

Beautiful setting on a beautiful island. Condos are well equipt and staff is very friendly and helpful. We will go there again often.

The lagoon pool was beautiful and we enjoyed playing water volley ball. The gym needs updating but did give us a work out. The grills were convient and since the restaurants are so expensive on Kauai, cooking and eating in was fun. (Lose 4lbs.)

Will go back as often as possible.

We stayed here in July 2002 for one week. We had a great time. It is a great starting point for visiting different sites on the island. It is nice to be able to walk next door to the Hyatt for dinner or to use the beach, since all beachs in Hawaii are public. Purchase kitchen supplies at Walmart or Longs Drug Store. Both have much cheaper prices than the local convenience store, especially for milk. The resort will loan you snorkling gear which our friends used alot.

We were there for two weeks in Jan. 2003 and have been there twice before. It's a lovely resort with exceptional staff. The suites are spacious and well maintained, and when something had to be fixed, it was taken care of immediately. The daily manager's reception is a sociable event that now includes excellent entertainment on two nights provided by staff. The resort has a convenient location, the climate is reliably sunny, and it is an easy walk to the upscale Hyatt next door. We saw lots of whales offshore, and turtles are always right out in front in the rocky coves.
