Have stayed here twice in the past 10 years. One in a "hotel unit" and once in a studio. Staff is friendly. Property is well maintained. Not on the beach but close to good beaches. Difficult to find parking in Kaanapali if you drive your car to Kaanapali beach. There is VERY LIMITED public parking in Kaanapali. Beach at Kahana (across the street from the resort) is not that great but usually not crowded. Also, parking at the resort can be real tight.
Resort is close to all the sights in and near Lahaina and also close to Kapalua. Of course, you need a car when in Maui.
BEWARE of the "hotel units". These are really "lock-off" bedrooms from the one bedroom units. The "hotel units" are SMALL. And I mean SMALL. Not much bigger than a cruise ship stateroom. Tiny bathroom. And the noise supression (if any) is not too good from the rest of the unit (the non-"lockoff" part). If you rent a hotel room in Maui at a regular hotel you will get a MUCH bigger room! Don't be fooled. I think this "lockoff" stuff is crap and RCI & II should ban it. I don't get to trade just part of my time share units! Maybe if enough people refuse to support it the problem will go away.
Bottom line: I would NOT stay in a "hotel unit" again!

We just got back and they have redone all the Hotel units with nice wood floors. In the hotel unit you get alot of amenites, its like having a mini kitchen with dishes and a toaster, microwave, small refrigerator and Coffee maker. you also get a big bathroom with a steam shower and jetted tub. It is really nice to have the extras over your typical hotel unit. The Resort has a Mai Tai party on Mon. that is not to be missed. They also have lei making classes and hula classes. Its nice to be at a full service resort. I also noticed the towels and housekeeping services are better than most condo's. We loved our stay at Kahana Falls and we will go back soon I hope.

The 1 room lock-offs are so small, there is no way 2 suitcases fit in the unit. The bed was uncomfortable, and the mini fridge and microwave were old and in need of repair. The only redeeming feature is the location.

We loved the resort, it is very clean and quiet and situated near Lahina. The people who work there are so friendly and accomodating you feel comfortable immediately. We stayed one week in the one bedroom/two bath which sleeps 4 and the nest week in the large 2 bedroom with 2 baths which sleeps 6. The units had been recently renovated and updated. The lagoon pool and kiddie pool are in a garden like setting. The Hot tub is even built into the lagoon area so it looks like a natural pool. We were there two weeks and had no problems at all, until we had to leave the problem was that everyone complained they wanted to stay longer.

Loved Kahana Falls. The two bedroom unit was very comfortable.
But not a big enough pool. It was a problem for our two grandchildren who are 11 and 13. But we were busy most of the time to keep them occupied.
The staff was wonderful and right there when you needed them.
Some great restaurants that were recommened ended up being outstanding.

We just came back from our third stay at Kahana Falls. The 2 bedroom lockout is very spacious--perfect for 2 couples. The hotel room by itself is small--but doable. The staff as always was great--very helpful and friendly. We love the lagoon style pool and spa area. There is a beach across from the property and several restaurants-both high end and casual--within walking distance. We love the location-just a short drive to Lahaina and Kaanapali. Our visit to Maui and our stay at Kahana Falls is something we look forward to every year.

Kahana Falls is not the most luxurious resort on Maui, but you should have an enjoyable time there.
The unit we stayed in was only about 400 square feet, split off of a full unit with only a bathroom and kitchenette, so we didn't have much motivation to spend a lot of time at the resort.
Laundry facilities were limited, with machines that didn't work too well.
The nearby beach is very nice, but must be accessed by crossing the street and using the public beach nearby.

We stayed in a 2 BR unit here at Thanksgiving in 2000. It's a lovely place, well maintained, and the staff was very responsive. I was initially disappointed that it's not right on the beach, but the beach is so close, it worked out just fine. Maui is a great place to relax and I will definitely stay at Kahana Falls again when I go back there.

Stayed here Oct 8-15, 2005. Smaller resort where you get more personal attention and very relaxed. Pool is smaller than most, but nice. Be very careful of the size of the room you get. If studio, it's very small, less than a hotel room. We had a 1 BR, 1 bath and it was very comfortable.

If I could give it four and a half stars. If it were on the ocean it would be five stars.
Open the windows and take in the sound of the waterfall to put you to sleep at night. Rooms were in wonderfull shape. Very family friendly.

If it was ocean front it would be a 5 star. Just a short drive to the Gazebo restraunt for a wonderful breakfast. Bought wonderful Hawawian Gold pinapples at the near-by farmers market. A wonderful place to stay.

Haven't stayed here but went through the tour. Beautiful new units. The design includes lockoff units which are pretty much just hotel rooms. Be sure that you know what you're getting.
