Nags Head, North Carolina, United States, North America 27959
Wide, uncrowded beaches; quaint, historical towns; and an endless supply of vacation activities are qualities that make the Outer Banks region a favorite. With a beachfront location, Ocean Villas I is the perfect introduction. Cast a fishing line and enjoy a little surf fishing, swim to your heart's content, or seek out an area charter for a day of boating and deep-sea angling. Enjoy the many unique shops and fine restaurants in the area as well.

We bought a unit at Ocean Villas, off the internet, without having seen the resort. We visited for the first time in October 2003 and were pleased with our purchase.
The resort is a series of bungalows snuggled up behind the dune just steps from the beach. Or what used to be the dune, prior to the hurricane.
The resort is not a Gold-Crown, but it is a Resort of Distinction. I found the units to be very practical and functional, but definitely not fancy. The resort is a favorite for fishermen and they even provide fish cutting tables outside.
The resort is narrow with a row of bungalows up each side and the drive way is in the middle. There is a swimming pool but since we were there in October it was closed. There is limited parking during the prime season, so only one car is allowed then.
Since the bungalows are close to each other, I would not recommend this resort for a honeymoon, unless you went in the winter and didn't care that it wasn't fancy. In the summer peak season, my guess is that the resort would seem crowded and noisy. It would be a great family resort if you wanted to spend most of your time on the beach or fishing.
Some of the units are 1BR and some are 2BR. We had one of the 2BR. There was a small fenced-in patio off one of the bedrooms and the master bedroom had a jacuzzi (though the hot water tank was not big enough to fill the tub as full as you might like).
The kitchen was nicely furnished and there was a small stacking washer and drier in the unit.
They also have a nice website with pictures.

This resort had a major renovation in 2003- 2004 to repair damage from Hurricane Isabelle. Unit 5 was destroyed and could not be rebuilt. All other units had mostly new interiors and furnishings. Even wiring and plumbing are all new. The resort is now probably up to a better standard that when the developer first started selling twenty years ago.

Rented a week in April 2003. It rained all week but 1 day - not to worry. We had a great time. Great friends, great board games, great restaurants, great shopping - NEVER BORING. Staff was excellent and attentive to our needs. We thought Nags Head was out until we found these 1 level cottages - NO MORE STEPS ! What's not to love........We loved it soooo much we bought 2 weeks ! Our friends bought 1 week.

RID - Beautiful oceanfront resort. Small and secluded. Convenient to shopping, attractions and sporting. All units have washer/dryers, some have fireplaces. Units are ground floor villas.
Places of interest: Jocky's Ridge, Wright Brothers site of first flight, Aquarium, National Seashore and the Lighthouses of the Outer Banks.

Great location with well equipped units, it is a small family-oriented resort.
