I rented a week at the Inn on Long Wharf and enjoyed it. Our room had the best view we've ever had! I don't know if the inside resort has as great a vantage point as the building that we were in (across the street). The staff was good but not great and Fairfield needs to tell people that they can't save pool chairs, which were at a premium this week.
There is much to do in Newport, especially in the summer. Fairfield offers quite a good value in all their Newport locations.

Our unit was recently renovated and we found the improvements to be very nice. Kitchen is small, but has everything now--a large refrigerator and a stove top. As before the bay view is exceptional and we enjoyed watching the lobster boats dock. Newport was wonderful with so much to do. Took a vineyard tour this year and found that quite pleasant. The exercise facility at the Long Wharf resort is much improved as it has been separated fom the indoor pool area. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We love coming back year after year.

We stayed here in the middle of October. Requested a corner room during reservations and received a corner room! Definetly one of the best rooms in Newport. The corner rooms are a little larger than the rest. Plus you get a full 270 degree view of Newport and the bridge! I have so many postcard like photos of Newport right from our bed and couch!! The unit could use an update. A little inconvenient to use the pool in mid October because you must go accross the street to the Long Warf Resort. We had to bring our jackets and ended up driving over there with the kids. Newport was pretty active for this time of year. We had 3 cruise ships stop in during the week that bring in plenty of tourists. All of the shops were still open, but they do close a little early in the evening. We also enjoyed the Sea Food Festival. They had a lot of activities for the weekend. The weather was ok. Great for the begining of the week, but it went downhill. It is New England so the weather can go either way. As we say, if you don't like the weather...wait a day! All in all, it was a nice get away. The Inn at Long Warf is a great place to stay for the views! We loved it and will be back again!

If this property had a full kitchen it would definitely get ***** stars. Great place.

This resort is fabulous. It's a little off the beaten path so it's not noisy or crowded. Even the pool for use by tenants is nearby but not on the property makes for less noise during the busiest season. Having parking is a great feature and the view from each unit is unsurpassed.
