If you have kids, Marriott's Harbour Lake is definitely the place to go. Formerly known as Horizons By Marriott at Orlando, this resort features a spectacular Horizons Harbor pool, complete with a pirate ship and daily pirate invasion. But the fun doesn't end there. Spend a day at WaterWorks, a playful interactive water adventure where you'll never know where waters jets will pop up next, or when a coconut palm tree will douse you with water. Marriott's Harbour Lake packs so much fun, your kids won't want to leave.
For rest and relaxation, retreat to your two-bedroom, two-bath timeshare villa with a full kitchen, separate living and dining areas, screened balcony, and washer/dryer. Each villa is equipped with a king-size bed in the master bedroom, two queen-size beds in the second bedroom, sleeper sofa in the living area, and three televisions.
Additional amenities at Harbour Lake include a gym with a fantastic view of Lake Willis, fishing on the private lake at Horizons Landing, a miniature golf course, basketball court, and video game room. Enjoy a quiet moment on the boardwalk as you watch the sunset, or gather the family for a barbecue in the shade at Function Junction, an outdoor pavilion. Of course, you're always welcome to simply relax in the open spaces of the Backyard. There's sure to be something for everyone right on site.

A perfect place to for families! Lots to do for everyone. Beautiful property on a lake - loved having coffee in our screened in porch in the morning and takin in the beautiful view of the lake. The kids (and my husband) loved the water slide. There is a smaller water slide (part of a pirate ship) for the younger kids. Mini golf was also a big hit! The unit is spacious and decorated nicely. The beds are comfy and big - something we can always count on when staying at a Marriott property. Location is perfect - close to Sea World and midway between Universal and Disney - lots of options!

My wife and twos kids have been going to this place for the last four years and I could tell you we do not get tire from it, we love it. It is close but far away from everything....close to the parks but away from city traffic and people. We do recommend it 100% and we still continue going.

We are Marriott owners and have stayed at many Marriott properties. This was by far the worst property I have ever been to. The kids activities are great as well as the employees that lead the children's activities. The pools are very fun for the kids BUT when we checked in late at night, I went to put my four children to bed. Every bed had dirty sheets on it. I immediately called and asked for clean sheets. More dirty sheets were brought to us. We ended up with three sets of dirty sheets before we finally received clean sheets. the unit was not clean. It was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The dishwasher was not working properly, cabinets were falling off hinges. This unit does not have a tub in the master bath, only a shower. We were constantly receiveing phone calls about going to an owner presentation for the new Marriott in Marco Island. Every time we went to the front desk for anything we were accosted by sales people trying to sign us up for a presentation. We finally gave in and went because we truly were interested in the Marco Island property. The manager at the sales department that was trying to get us to buy continually made belittling comments towards me, as in I don't want to give you all the details of the financial aspect of this because it might confuse you. Considering we own 5 Marriott weeks I very obviously know finances well and how to figure things out. I would not recommend this property and I will never return.

I just returned from Horizon's and my family loved it. My children, all boys, are ages 5, 3, and 1. There was something for everyone. My kids never even asked to go to the parks they were so busy there. Lots of kids activities and a very friendly staff. The rooms were great. The resort offered alot without being too large.

Very nice place for families. We just recently returned from staying there. The kids (8 and 10) loved it! Unfortunatley, we didn't get to spend enough time at the resort and are looking to possibly return next year to relax on site more. Rooms very very clean. Screened in porch wonderful. No complaints. Mini golf on site. There is simply too much to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful time at a wonderful place! Very kid friendly, yet enjoyable and relaxing for the adults.

WOW! We have just returned from a wonderful vacation at The Horizons by Marriott in Orlando. We loved the location...especially the 2 minute trip to SeaWorld. The pools were amazing as was the yummy & reasonably priced food at the pool restaurant.
Our room was so pretty and well stocked. We can't wait to go back. Great for kids and parents!

Just came back from a wonderful stay at Horizons, absolutely the place for kids!!! The interactive pools are ideal to keep the little ones busy while the relaxing hot tub is great for mom and dad.
Units were very nice, only wish master bath had a hot tub. Very updated, kids loved the big screen TV.
They just finished the night outdoor fire pit and are adding a movie theater, indoor playground, and upgraded game room. Also talks of radio controlled boats in one of the small ponds. Once you grasp the "Key West" theme you will enjoy this resort. We will be back next year, 5 minutes from Sea World and 2 exits from Disney, great location.

We just returned from our vacation on June 9, 2006. This is the place to go if you have children, and plan to visit Orlando with limited time at other attractions. Our son is five, and he enjoyed the resort as much as Universal and Disney. As a matter of fact, he would have been content remaining at the two large pool centers everyday.
The 'water parks' are great for children. In addition, the hot tubs and swimming pools offer plenty of room for adults even on crowded evenings. The pool side bar offers great options with plenty of seating.
The only recommendations for this resort are to install a whirlpool tub in the master bath, a larger gameroom, and an indoor play area. However, the added plus of no one pressuring you for a sales presentation more than makes up for any shortcomings.
The children's activities are reasonably priced with plenty of variety. The villas were clean and up to date. My family will be sure to enjoy this resort again.

Absolutely loved this resort and you will too IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN! Our kids loved this place and we are even thinking of purchasing here. If you don't have kids, this is not the place for you.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The pools were great and the activities fantastic. My kids did not want to leave the resort. We cancelled 2 days of activities to stay and play at the resort! AND they are adding more this year (a movie theater, a firepit, general store and large gameroom!)
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it lacks luxury in the actual units. Master Bedroom is VERY small compared to Marriott's competitors and there is no jacuzzi which is common in Master Bedroom Suites at most timeshares. The second bedroom was quite roomy though. It lacked a few other amenities which are slated to be added this coming year but all in all, a great value!
I would highly recommend this resort! (Stayed March 2006)

Stayed in June 2004.
We had a great time. Staff was friendly and willing to help you with anything you need. Great location as it was super close to Sea World and just right down the road from Universal/Disney. Rooms look new and were spacious. 2bedroom sleeps 8.
No onsite restaurant unless you count eating at the bar. Food was avg. I actually expected better. No hot tub in the master bedroom. Those are my only complaints but I would go back in a minute as we got a real good deal for the week (EBAY $600)

Kids, kids , kids.....if you got em, and I do, this is THE place. Very new and comfortable 2 bedroom units on Lake Willis, great views, big screen TV's in the newer units, and children activities all week long. If you are on your honeymoon, i feel for ya! Close to Universal and Sea world too.

The programs for kids were great. The villa was spacious and comfortable. The food could be better but the drinks were fine.
We loved it so much, we bought a week.

Our family stayed in a lake-front villa during the first week of June, 2004, and had a terrific time at Horizons. The amenities are outstanding.

Large 2 bedroom unit. Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Kids love it here - great themed swimming pool and on site waterpark. Some views from balconies leave a bit to be desired, mostly because of construction. This is a family with children oriented resort.

We really enjoyed this resort. We went down with friends who had never done the timeshare thing and they were extremely impressed. Here are the highlights:
PROS: -Great friendly staff. Best we've experienced so far. -Most comfortable bed (master bedroom) I've slept in aside from home. I can't stress enough how much a difference this makes. -Pool area was excellent. A kids paradise! Adults can enjoy it too if you wait until around 10pm. -Decent gym. Lets face it, we aren't going to the Orlando area to work out, but it's nice to have a nice clean gym with decent equipment to get a quick work out in the morning. -Great location off I-Drive and near Cypress Harbour. -Although this place is still not sold out, they never asked us to sit through a sales presentation. I'm already a timeshare owner and I hate when resorts try and force exchangers to sit through the presentation.
CONS -Master bathroom has no jetted tub or anything like that. I enjoy those tubs after long days of walking parks. -Resort is not finished yet. The mini-golf course wasn't done as of Dec 03, and neither are few of the amenities you read about in your catalog. That was disappointing. - Restraunt & common areas not as nice as Cypress Harbour, but perhaps when it's finished it will be nicer. - Original room had crappy view of construction and the front gate. We asked if we could move to a water view. Since we checked in early they were happy to accommodate us (see the "pro" for great staff above).
Overall, since we don't have kids this wasn't the ideal resort for us, but we still really enjoyed it. Anyone with kids should strongly consider this resort. The kid friendly amenities are awesome.

A truly first class place to stay! This place is loaded with amenities. My five year old talks about heading back to that place with the pirate ship pool and the water park all year long. My older boys liked the planned activities. We had so much fun at the resort that we only used our 5 day hopper pass twice; the second time was a struggle because the kids wanted to stay at the resort!

We stayed in Nov, 2001. We had a fantastic time. The units were beautiful, and very family friendly. The staff were all excellent. The children's pool and water park were incredible for my 2 yr old, and 8 week old. We can't wait to go back.

Room a little smaller than the regular MVCI villas but that is kind of the point. And besides, when you are in Orlando how much are you actually in your room? Feature pool is amazing place for the kids. Location is right accross from Cypress Harbour and just a few minutes down the road from Sea World and the whole I-Drive thing.
