The Alii Kai Resort is the perfect place to relax and decompress. Located in Princeville, on the north shore of Kauai, this resort is situated on a bluff overlooking the endless Pacific Ocean and surrounding Kauai landscape. The Alii Kai offers two-bedroom timeshare units that sleep six. Each unit features a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the guest bedroom, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, full-size sleeper sofa in the living area, and washer/dryer.
While at the Alii Kai, savor the stunning hilltop and ocean views, relax by the pool, or participate in the various resort activities. Experience the spirit and beauty of the island as you gaze at a romantic sunset from your balcony, or enjoy a family barbecue in the garden.
While in Kauai, swim in the vast Pacific Ocean, or go sport fishing, surfing, snorkeling, or scuba diving. Whale watching is a popular attraction, and the natural beauty of the island itself is breathtaking. Go hiking, golfing, biking, take a helicopter tour of the island, or feast at an authentic luau. There are many colorful entertainment spots, shopping, and fine dining establishments, all nearby.

We are owners and this is our fourth trip to Alii Kai II. We are in an ocean view unit managed by Grand Pacific Resorts and while I feel this is still a great location, it's time for an upgrade. The baths and kitchen cabinets are really dated, as is the 19in( or is it a 21in) television. The unit is excellently stocked, and all appliances were in good working condition.
There is no air conditioning and none is needed. If the noise of the wind, and birds bothers you, then this isn't the place for you. Although it's small, the pool was never crowded. Unless I'm mistaken, there are only 56 units in the facility.
Coming back in July,2010

My husband and I stayed with our 6 year old daughter Thanksgiving week. We were not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised with the spacious accomodations.
The 2 bedroom had everything, including Beach cooler, beach towels, laundry soap and basket for in unit w/d, very large and best equipped kitchen I have ever had at our many years for timeshare trading. Kitchen even had tupperware and foil & plastic wrap. Even my big pet peeve (never enough hangers) was no problem as there were more than enough. They have truly thought of everything.
Also, we did not need A/C as the lovely tradewinds came up each evening to lull us to sleep. Did I mention that the beds were so comfy that we had a hard time getting up in the morning?
We have stayed at fancier places, but none more spacious and comfortable. The grounds were well tended and beautifully landscaped.
We were able to rent snorkel equipment at the front desk for $15 a week and also a boogie board.
Very convenient to Anini Beach (the best on Island) for snorkeling and shell hunting. Also close to Hanelei town for great Sushi at Sushi Blues and Kayak rentals for river.
Can't wait to return!

We stayed over the 4th of July week and had an incredible time. The units were very nicely appointed and maintained. The vast majority of the complex is individually owned with only sixteen units in the timeshare program. Most owners seem to use as second homes or for renting. Judging by the number of cars parked, I would say less than half the units were occupied on a busy week. We never had any problems with noise, parking and the pool was never crowded. We had a beautiful ocean view from the 2nd floor where we saw rainbows in the morning and incredible sunsets in the evening. This was our first stay and we will definately be going back. Two thumbs way up! FYI, non timeshare units with ocean views on the second floor are now selling for $960,000.

I found this resort to be in a decent location, as Princeville goes with large rooms, but the units were very dated inside and out, LOUD (you could hear everything around you), and overall very marginal, at best. The pool was very small (and not even worth the visit). And no beach access (although, that is to be expected in Princeville, of course).
People who work here are very nice and helpful.
I wouldn't recommend this resort, unless the only thing you are trying to do is stay in Kauai for a low price, and are willing to DRIVE to anything worthwhile (i.e. restaurants, beaches, etc.). It was a good deal for the physical space (large unit).

Well maintained and managed. Grounds are beautiful. We are currently in Building #8 and have a partial ocean view. The owned units in the same complex are selling for the mid-600's.
