Located in the "Biggest Little City in the World," the Plaza Resort Club offers an action-packed vacation. At the hotel, you'll find a large hot tub and an enclosed pool. Just a half-block away is Wingfield City Park, bordering the Truckee River, where tennis courts, jogging trails, and a picnic area provide outdoor activities. A white water kayaking park has been added on the river. A number of golf courses are close by, and Lake Tahoe is only 39 miles away. Within a 90-minute drive is a large concentration of downhill skiing facilities. Year-round, enjoy the casinos and showrooms that have made Reno so popular.

My wife and I stayed the week before Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The facilities were first-rate, the location was convenient, and the staff made us feel welcome.
We went on several day trips that we really enjoyed. Pyramid Lake is north of Reno, and the view of the high desert rising over an enormous lake nestled at the end of the Truckee River was so peaceful. I would recommend this trip for the views, and the fishing/ boating/birding are worthwhile. Another good day trip is up the Gieger Grade (Nevada 341) to Virginia City, a tourist-oriented museum/souvenir/casino town. The scenery was the biggest draw for us, but the silver mining and Mark Twain heritage was interesting. We also went on a day trip to Lake Tahoe for the scenery. Driving from Reno and going all the way around the lake was an easy one day trip with plenty of time for photos and meals. Reno is a little far away to stay if your primary focus is Tahoe, but it is under an hour's drive so you could go to Sandy Point Beach for the snorkeling, or one of the marinas for boating, etc. on a second day. We also took in Donner Pass; driving up the pass from Donner Lake made us wonder how on earth the early settlers could drive a team and wagon over that pass. It is a formidable trip in a car on the nice roads today. Our last trip was to Lassen Volcanic Park, a three-plus hour drive. Route 89 is a beautiful drive to the park through the awesome pine national forests. Once in the park, the drive to the 8700 foot side of Mt Lassen is lined with scenic pull-offs that feature spectacular views. The vents and high lakes are fascinating.
In the room, we found we did not miss having a range but we did miss a separate kitchen sink -- washing the dishes was awkward in the little dishpan. On the other hand, the Truckee River flowed through a neat park right across the street from the resort, a really nice feature and a restful place to spend the odd minute. We traded in here through RCI and are delighted with our experience.
Highly recommended!

We have been owners for a long time..the units have had some updates..but are only comfortable for two adults do not try to use it for four...only microwave and much like ahotel room... nice pool area is a plus.. attitude of staff is secretive when you ask questions location is downtown near old casinos..check rates at the nugget, peppermill, or atlantis and save your exchange for another Place... california owner

My most recent visit was in July 2007. It is always a pleasure to stay at this Plaza Resort Club. It is clean and smoke free. The staff people are extremely pleasant! As a student, it is extremely quiet and within walking distance of great restaurants! I used my RCI tradein. It would be great if the rental prices would be more affordable. Other students are interested, but find the daily rates a little bit pricey.

Loved the rooftop hot tub (glass enclosed) with views of Reno. Pool is nice. Furnishings in room, halls, lobby, etc. are simply great. Friendly staff. No wonder it's gold crown.
