Many resorts have beautiful grounds & great accommodations, and Troon has that, but where this resort excels is it's staffing. From the minute we checked in until we left, we were pampered.....and this included daily full maid service. Our unit was in the Residence Club, and if you have stayed in timeshare or interval units you know typically you get linen change once during the week, that's it. Yes, we tipped generously, but no doubt the service would have been the same. Bath ammenities are from L'Occitane. The concierge staff, the dining wait staff, gift shop staff, were both helpful and happy.
The views are spectacular and you can take a walking trail from the resort that leads to the hiking trail up Pinnacle Peak (highly recommended).
Many units have been renovated recently, as was ours, and the only drawback we could find is that the kitchens, although well equipped, are quite small (no doubt most people dine out). We usually cooked in but the restaurants had great atmosphere, menus, and staff (food was very good) and at least once a week is a wine tasting, a martinis and manicure, etc.
Cabanas surround the many pool areas, including a very generous sized whirlpool with vigorous jets to sooth the muscles.
Enjoy your stay here from check-in to check-out!

VERY NICE FACILITY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, AFTER STAYING THERE FOR SEVEN DAYS IN AUGUST/08 I FOUND THE ROOMS TO BE VERY COMFORTABLE AND COZY. A MUSTY SMELL WAS NOTED BY MY SISTER AND I, WHICH DID NOT GO AWAY. THE UNITS WERE VERY CLEAN AND EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED AT HAND. THE SERVICES WAS THE BEST. THE FOOD WAS VERY OVER PRICED WE ORDERED ROOM SERVICE TWICE AND HAD BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL FOR TWO. ONE ORDER WAS A BURGER AND FRIES THE TOTAL BILL WAS OVER 450.00 WHICH WAS WAY OVER THE TOP FOR THREE MEALS. MY ROOM HAD TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY A STAIRWAY TO THE 2ND FLOOR IN THE BUILDING I WAS ASSIGNED.THE PROBLEM WAS WE COULD NOT GET OUR SUITCASE UP THE STAIRS. FOR A SAFETY MEASURE WE ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ROOM THAT HAD AN ELEVATOR TO ENTER A SECOND FLOOR ROOM. DURING AUGUST THE MONSOONS WERE IN FULL FORCE AND WE LOST OUR POWER FOR HOURS, WE GOT IN THE CAR AT 6AM AFTER HAVING TO SHOWER WHILE STUMBLING IN THE DARK WE LEFT THE HOTEL UNTIL EARLY EVENING BY THEN THE POWER WAS BACK ON. WE WERE VERY SURPRISED THAT THE HOTEL DID NOT HAVE A BACK UP GENERATOR THAT WORKED. OVERALL ONE OF THE LESSONS LEARNED WAS THAT AS FEMALES STAYING ALONE IN A HOTEL IN A SECLUDED MOUNTAIN AREA THERE WERE PRECAUTIONS THAT WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN AHEAD OF TIME. I WOULD STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN. FOR AWAY FROM IT ALL WITH PEACE AND QUITE IN A BEAUTIFUL DESERT SETTING YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT. BUT IF YOU WANT TO BE CLOSER TO THE CITY WHERE YOU HAVE MANY OPTIONS FOR CULTURAL ACTIVITIES,SHOPPING AND GREAT PLACES TO EAT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.WE DROVE 45 MINUTES INTO THE CITY OF SCOTTSDALE MOST OF THE TIME IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. THE LIGHTS DRIVING UP TO THE HOTEL AT NIGHT WERE LITTLE OR NONE. LUCKY FOR US WE HAD GPS WHICH SAVED US EVERY TIME. GREAT PLACE BUT TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND PLAN AHEAD WHICH WE DID NOT.

A full Four Seasons resort. Feels much more luxurious than other scottsdale resorts. The spa, the restaurants, the golf, the rooms, the pools...whew...they are all really good. The rooms are also very well taken care of and the service is, of course, as good as you are going to get anywhere (which, of course, is why the place is so expensive). They know how to take care of kids and to separate them appropriately to keep the kid-less couples happy. On the couple of visits we have had, we have always looked forward to the sunset from the bar and the evian spritzers on our face by the staff at the pool.

Extraordinary elegance describes this resort. They bring complimentary fresh fruit and Haagen Daas ice cream bars to you at poolside. 3 pools in the Villas, plus 2 more in the adjoining Four Seasons hotel.
Legendary Four Seasons service. Very spacious units are in small clusters, like houses rather than a large multi-story hotel, and decorated in Southwestern style. Location is excellent - in the middle of exclusive golf course residential communities, quiet, peaceful. but close to all Scottsdale and Phoenix have to offer - GREAT shopping, art, restaurants, etc.

Service was exceptional! True 5 star quality throughout, and we are very high maintenance type of people.

We are residence club members, now with four weeks' ownership at this setting. Obviously we're committed to this location. Highlights - Four Seasons service; blending of the architecture, design and landscaping with the setting; outstanding meals; and Ronald Jean's guitar music (not available our last visit in March '04). We enjoy regular hikes at Pinnacle Peak and workouts at the fitness centre. The poolside service is exceptional. Scottsdale itself has become a cultural oasis, a magnificent city. We added our fourth week through Smartchoice Timeshare Realty, and received excellent service!
I have voiced concern for some time at the limited exchange program offered by Four Seasons, compared to other hotel-based competitors such as Westin and Marriott, and also compared to competitors at the high end, such as Exclusive Resorts. Additionally, the new developments at Jackson Hole and Costa Rica are no longer on a traditional "timeshare" model, making exchanges at those locations considerably more difficult. An alternative way of facilitating exchange seems so far not to have been considered by Four Seasons.
However, I find that this situation has recently begun to improve. An expanded exchange program includes access to several western mountain resorts, to Villa La Estancia in Cabo San Lucas, to the Phillips Club in New York City, and also, recently, on a limited basis to available condominium units at Four Seasons Great Exuma through 2007. There is also talk that some new residence clubs will adhere to the original Aviara/Scottsdale model, for example, a development planned in Orlando at Celebration (no specific date provided).
The lack of exchange options for settings of equivalent quality has in my opinion always been the greatest drawback to the Four Seasons Residence Club program. Perhaps the company is now addressing this concern with some seriousness.

Pure unrivalled luxury is the only way to describe this club. From being sprayed down with Evian water by the pool to the offering of complimentry fruit kebabs. Spotless and attention to detail is apparent everywhere. I felt that everyone new my name and that I was VIP.
