Stayed at Ridge Top Village. Have also stayed at Ridge Top summit and Summit is MUCH nicer.
Village has no downstairs bathroom, which can become a pain. Rooms are also smaller than at Summit. We were in 156 and it needed some TLC. Wallpaper in bathroom was coming off, 2 of 3 flashlights didn't work, and ringer on upstairs phone didn't work. Also the shower is poorly designed. It's in a corner and is triangular shaped so when you turn the water on to adjust it, it goes right out the door!
The area is nice though. Very rustic and there's lots of deer and forest creatures around. Outlets are not far away and we enjoyed horseback riding through the mountains. Nice place to come and just relax and there is a fireplace in the unit.
We were able to trade our 1 BR at another timeshare for a 2 BR here, so we can't complain too much ....

We've owned at Shawnee Ridge Top since 1990. The HOA has done a great job keeping the units updated and the maintenance fees low. Our children and now grandchildren love to come to ski and use the rec center. They love the olympic size pool, game room and gym. The activities for kids and adults are good. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Wyndham has recently bought Shawnee and is in the process of making major improvements. The area has a lot to offer. The kids loved going to the Crayola factory.
Our family definitely likes to come to Shawnee and will be back next year.

We just returned home from a relaxing week at Ridge Top Village, January, 2007. While it was a little warm for snow this year, we still had a great time and found plenty to do. There were lots of shops and nice restaurants in the area. We commuted into New York City for museum visits and site seeing.
Unlike Summit units, our condo had a real fireplace where we burned real wood in roaring fires. Pool area was clean and had a comfortable temp. They charged $3 for pool towels which we thought was a tad steep so we went to nearby Wal-Mart and got some decent towels.
Unit was clean and spacious with a lovely wooded view. There were 3 dbl beds and sofa bed. We are a small family of 3, so we didnt use the sofa bed. This was a very quiet week at Ridge Top with just a few guests at the resort. There was a full schedule of activities but we were so busy doing other things we only did a couple resort activities. We had an assigned parking spot close to our unit. Wed recommend this resort to our friends and enjoy a return visit.

Vacationed at Ridge Top Village, August, 2006 and what a disaster. The indoor and outdoor pools were filthy. Actually slimey. Spa only had only two jets working. Neighbors had up to 30 people in this small unit every night. Was no place for us to park because of the parties going on next door. Kids up running around without supervision until 11:00 at night. Resort facilities pretty run down. Golf course not open any more due to flooding, but we were not informed of this before arriving. Staff did not attempt to correct situation in pool area or having too many people staying in a condo that sleeps 8 (not comfortably either). Would never, ever stay there again.

I purchased week 25. My family of 5 had a great time. Lots of family activities at a very affordable price. We never needed to leave the resort and the staff was OUTSTANDING. I have three kids ages 15, 12, and 9 who all are looking forward to returning next year.

Just got back from a week at the ridge top, Feb 2006. The unit said it slept 8! We had such a hard time w/the eight of us, my husband went and bought an air mattress for the floor. The bed was so hard I wanted the air matress! The resort also says that it is on the mountain! It was a 15 min drive to the ski resort! The Staff was not very helpful when we asked for dish washing detergent! They told me to go to the store and buy it! The kids had fun in the activity center/pool & game room. Too far from the unit though for them to walk themselves. We are skiiers so we would go back there but not with eight of us!

We stayed at Ridge Top Summit in November 2006. The unit was great, all new and clean, very bright. We loved it. Everything at the resort is very spread out, but a shuttle comes on call to move you around. The main pool was closed for repairs while we were there, but the pool at the inn was available and we found we liked that one much better than the one at the rec building. The inn has new locker rooms and the pool, though small, is warm and nice.
We definitely got the feeling that Shawnee is on the way up since we stayed there about a year ago (in River Village II) and visited over the summer. The staff was always friendly and pleasant, but everything seemed better maintained this time around.

We stayed in a Ridge Top Summit unit, which should not be confused with a Ridge Top unit. Summit is 5 stars Interval rated, and deserves this rating. Ultra clean, new and bright.
Unit contains 2 bedrooms, with 3 full baths, one handicapped "friendly". (There is a small lip on the floor where the shoer door closes). All baths had shower doors, all windows (Anderson) opened & closed top & bottom. Fireplace was gas, 35 or 37 inch TV has DVD, Tape and Sony digital 6 way stereo amp & reciever.
W/D, DW, elect stove microwave, vents in full, larg kitchen.
L/R has sleeper sofa, D/R has room for 8 at hhe colonial table, and all dishwear/cooking set up for eight.
17 stairs to upper level, with both full baths containing enlongated toilets, showers, and a large whirlpool tub with 8 jets. This was a bigger unit than we have used in Marriotts Manor Club...I fit easily with wife, and I'm not small (6'4" and 300+lbs).
Staff was warm and friendly. We had a TUG getogether, and I needed more pots, no problem...staff asked..what do you need...they even gave a giant roaster tray (free) for the baked ziti.
There is plenty to do. The resort gives all its village guests the same lists, and books, and even in this off time, the program fit kids, adults, and seniors. There was bingo, karioke, bonfire marshmellow roasts, tripos to NYC, Philly, AC.....but you could see Barefoot in the Park right at their Playhouse....
I could go on & on....this HOA & the management company is excellent. I must include both, because its the HOA that pays for the services. Pick SUMMIT if you can get it.
A few problems....no laundry basket..the Inns pool was still closed due to Ivan, the golf course was still a bit wet (also due to the floods, but they had alternate areas to try). Shawnee Place at the foot of the Shawnee Ski Slope looked like a lot of fun. Ice Rink may be perm damaged due to flood.
If kids like trains, try Steamtown in Scranton. Try Del water gap trolly tour.
Caution: Although all the units at Summit have Handicapped Bathrooms, SOME OF THE UNITS require you to walk up to 16 steps before you enter the house. There are several sections, however, with no stairs defore you enter. But all the units have stairs to the bedrooms. (They can sleep on the sofa). No ranch type units.
We would return

I thought the Townhome was in very good condition. It was very clean and the appliances were in very good working order. The recreation center was in very good order. There was much to do in that they had a basketball court, a small gym, games rooms, an olympic-sized pool, a hot tub, a sauna, etc. The staff was extremely helpful. Skiing and horseback riding was very close by. Shopping was convienient as well. My only complaints are that the mattresses on the beds and the shower stalls in the townhome were a little small. But it's a nice family resort that I would definitely come back to.

Very disappointed in this Timeshare property. The unit was very run down and in need of new carpet, furnishings, etc. The light fixture in the kitchen was full of dead bugs---it was gross.
The activities were OK. The mini-golf was fun; but the indoor pool and activities areas were dirty.
We had the timeshare for one week---but left after two nights---it was that bad.
Would not recommend this property or resort area to spend your money.

We stayed here in November by purchasing an extra week through RCI. Big mistake. Thoroughly disappointing with very little to do in the area in Nov. Indoor pool has whirlpool, with game room & snack bar on premises. T/S was dated, though our kids had fun with the miniature golf on-site. Highlight of our trip. Wouldn't stay here again. Very disappointed to find Rockaway Shopping Mall listed as nearby attraction.

Stayed in Unit 12, August 02. Two storey units are relatively small, bathtubs and showers very small, no toilet on ground level. Kitchen and Lv. rm. due for refurbishing. Resort maintenance needs improvement. Attractive new rec. centre, mini golf, etc. Guests can use facilities (pools, golf, tennis, etc.) of all Shawnee resorts.
