We also own at Ocean Beach Club but still prefer our 2 bedroom at Beach Quarters due to the resort's location and it's ammenities. We also like the south end of town because within walking distance are many great restaurants, shops and Rudee's Inlet along with a more relaxed atmosphere. The staff is knowledgable, pleasant and helpful. The use of the Turtle Cay pool is a plus. We look forward to our return next summer.

We have owned a 2 bedroom lock-out here for 20 years. We love it and haven't missed a year. Our children are now 17 & 20 yrs old and have said that no matter what happens or where they are, they will always be with us at the BeachQuarters every summer. We travel a lot and this is the best set-up for us. All rooms are ocean front at the southern end of the beach near Rudees Inlet--the perfect location. Some of the best restaurants at the beach are located within walking distance or you can hop on your bike and head south up over Rudee Inlet for the water and go-cart park, marine science museum, Red Wing Park, lots of plazas, and shops. BeachQuarters has a roof-top tennis court and shuffle board--we play everyday. The roof-top pool is very nice and a quick lunch, beer, or smoothie at the SandBar poolside snack bar is very convenient. It has an indoor pool and 2 hot-tubs. The exercise room is well equipped, but we choose to play tennis, golf, ride our bikes, jog on the beach, our son fishes the inlet and Sandbridge, and our daughter & her friends shop all up and down Atlantic Avenue. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is always immaculate and they have refurbished our unit twice since we purchased--now we have a dishwasher too! No washer/dryer in the unit, but I will give that up to sit on the balcony & watch the sunrise and dolphins in the morning while enjoying my first coffee and relaxing in the evening with a gin and tonic while watching the fireworks over the ocean To sum it up, this place is swell--and has only been getting better every year.

I have travel extensively, being in motels to 5 stars hotels. To describe this hotel in simple terms, call it a motel 8 with ocean view.

Have to pay for the safe even if you do not used it! Have to pay for the internet! I was a guess of a timeshare owner. Wow the timeshare owners are getting rip off. Have to pay a fee of $35 to get the date change for the middle of the week cleaning. House cleaning, very poor. The floor was sticky when we check in. Furthermore the middle of the week house cleaning was on a wednesday? For the middle of the week house cleaning, I gave a tip of $5 before the lady started to clean, believe it or not, the service was still not there. The hotel is located in front of an 15 inches pipe that is used to dump dirty sand on the beach, discusting, in the week we stay they started dumping that stuff (for 3 days) on our third day and the beach was cover with dark wooden pieces, dirt, big sea shells that hurt when you step on them. We just stop going to the beach and used the swimming pool (which actual looks like a bathtub) of the hotel. ANd the nosie of the fighter aircraft... HEADACHE...on and on day and night. Long time I did not stay at motel 8, bet you that all of the above is free at Motel 8. Comments above from Bobr27 and thersac67...bet you that they are working at beach resort...all lies believe me or they must be blind and have hearing problems...didn't hear the sounds of the fighter planes, cannot they comments on the old furnitures...

Have been coming here for 8 years, and every year they improve. New Elevators, new ventilation, re done rooms. Yes, the parking is tight, but it is attached, covered, free. Two pools, activities for the kids, and a quieter part of the beach. Walking distance from half a dozen restaurants and a trolley stop on the corner for heading uptown. You can use Turtle Cay next door when you rent from an owner. They have a great outside pool. Balconies overlook the ocean. Watch dolphins swim in the am and pm.

All the timeshare units have an oceanfront balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. The unit for 2 was clean and small, but we had all the amenities which included a king- size bed, large Jacuzzi Tub, mini-kitchen. We enjoyed the resort weekly activiites and especially the Welcome Party - Luai Style on the rooftop pool/outdoor bar (Free food, beverages and live music) overlooking the ocean. The resort staff was very friendly.

This resort has the most amenities that I have seen at Virginia Beach (tennis court, shuffle board, outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, kiddie pool, 2 hot tubs, spa, exercise facilities with a view of the ocean, etc.).

RELAXING & ENJOYABLE! What a sight to wake up every morning to--the sound of the ocean! We had a wonderful time at VA Beach. Lots of activities to do with the kids and for adults! The hotel itself was nice--I believe it needs a little bit of remodeling--my room had a musty cigarette odor--not pleasant. The room was comfortable for the 5 of us--we had a 1 bedroom. The staff was pleasant. The location was a little off from the strip, but one could always use the trolley/walk--like we did. I would definitely visit VA beach again!

(2007) Hello All, exterior changes have happened,Interior upgrades have added items that are now more inline with what is expected from a resort for guest services. As always Virginia beach is still a blast for the kids.

(2005) The resort is on the small but clean and tidy side,The resort is quick to respond to problems.Parking is hard at times,But park and use the trolley pass and you never have to drive. The resort could use Guest areas for internet access, reading, resting is one main thing that could put the resort as 5 star for "Va".Has every thing you need from shopping to bike riding as a family,Very relaxed and the pool at the sister resort(Turtle Cay)across the street was well enjoyed by the kids as "super" kid friendly and landscaped to be adult enjoyable. Va Beach has become what Md. had to offer 20yrs ago for the family. The beach is itself the Most desirable for activites and size that are hard too find anywhere in the USA.My family plans to return for many yrs to come because of the family feel and comfort and safty the area has to offer and clean surroundings you can enjoy. To be mid jun as for weather it was the recharge of the body that was needed even with 3 kids to handle.Va beach I give it 9 on a scale of 10. We will be back after skipping it for 15yrs.

This resort is just OK, the picture makes it look great but I have been at much nicer resorts than this place. The rooms need cleaned better, you get towels twice during the week, and there were black bugs in our room. If you like to have magaritas at the pool, they only serve non alcoholic, you can get beer or wine though. Oh and the parking garage is terrible, if you have a carrier on your car, be prepared to remove it-- it won't fit. Best thing is the ocean view, we payed alot to see that!

We visited our friends who own at Beach Quarters.

I was really pleased that all units are oceanfront--right on beautiful VA Beach. The kitchen was adequate. Our friends were able to cook "banquet-style" meals for us to enjoy.

The staff was friendly and accommodating and we loved the convenient location to attractions, restaurants, entertainment, highways, etc.

What more could you ask for?

We look forward to returning as guests.

Great Location, Right on the beach, Overlooking the inlet. We watch the Parade of Dolphins every morning from our balcony with our coffee.

One bedroom is rated to sleep six, but you better be friends. Adaquate for four. Comfortable for a couple. The kitchen is fully stocked, if small. It has everything you will need, but bring only one cook.

The resort is very nice. All the facilities are in tip top condition. Indoor Pool and Hot tub is most enjoyable. Health Center is a wonderful ameniety.

Virginia Beach has everything for a complete vacation. Activity and nitelife in the town, Nature and seclusion in Sandbridge, Back Bay Nat Wildlife Ref., and False Cape St Park. Norfolk and Hampton within easy reach. And Williamsburg only one hour away.

We vacation here every October, and find it a highlight of our year.
