I rented a cabin from Bruce C. and had a great time!! I took my grandchildren and would recommend this renter to all!!! Very quick to reply and help with your vacation!!! The pools are great (with many 'floaties'-lifeguard-basketball-volleyball), and so are the accomodations. I will be going back!! Only a few short miles to WI Dells-but so much to do at the resort that who needs to go elsewhere!! Full kitchen, bedrooms, livingroom with fireplace, deck with charcoal grill, close laundry facility (free), and activities. Great staff, too!!!!!!!

We stayed in a 2BR townhome with our two children. Very nice, modern and well maintained. Plenty of room, clean. We had two children - nice to have twin beds in the second bedroom. Also saw a 2BR Villa and that also looked nice. I wouldn't have been as excited with the cabins based on how they looked from the outside.

Staff was courteous. Wisconsin Dells is great for kids and those who like waterparks. We went to Noah's Ark and had a great time.

Just came back from Xmas Mountain, and I was disappointed in the room I stayed in. More like a shack, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, over by trailer community. Really took the wind out of me, wife was ready to go as soon as we arrived. I used a trade, that should have gotten me better value. If you ever go, and they inform you about staying in the cottages/cabins. Tell them that is quite all right, the Villa's or Townhomes are the only place that allows you to believe this is a gold crown property. The cabins are just a roof over your head, taking away all ambeince from what you come to expect from a resort environment.

We have exchanged in order to stay at Christmas Mountain for a number of years. We LOVE it! We have brought friends along with us and there is always plenty of room. We have stayed in the cottages, the cabins, and the Villas. We love the Villas for the "in-house" laundry room (or closet) and the screened porch with GAS grill and GAS fireplace (gas is so much easier), and the BIG jacuzzi and fireplace in the master bedroom upstairs. But we've decided we like the cabins/cottages best as they are one-story and easier for hauling luggage. Not that we wouldn't LOVE to have a Villa again :) But we generally do laundry only once if at all, and have only used the jacuzzi once also. We almost always grill and we definitely buy and use firewood each year (we take home any leftovers).

We usually go in the slightly off-season (autumn), but have been once in late summer and once in very late spring. So we have seen all the family crowds and find we like the peace and quiet of Xmas Mountain itself the best, although we are limited in deep off- season as to activities. If we had kids that could be more of a problem. But we have been to many area attractions, yet we have still not exhausted the multitude of activities in this area and last year discussed which places we would still like to experience.

We have developed friendships with residents in the area, and regret that for the first time in 8 or 9 years we won't be going to Wisconsin this fall. This resort is beautiful and well-kept; occasionally we may call housekeeping for a triviality. The staff is always totally friendly at our 9 pm to 1 am check-ins :) and we now keep a permanent packing list and a "when we get there" grocery list for Zinke's Market just for this trip each year.

BTW, I rave about Wisconsin Dells so much that a co-worker and her husband took their grandkids there one year... and LOVED it. And I sent my mother to stay a week at Xmas Mountain using one of RCI's great deals, and she loved it too.

More wide-spread area amenities not mentioned in other reviews are ...

the museum and circus performances at Circus World in Baraboo;

Cranberry Connection gift shop shows a video about area bogs and has maps for driving or biking tours (ask the owner about the local cranberry cookbook);

Carr Valley cheeses and demos/videos;

Cave of the Blue Mound;

Frank Lloyd Wright's home Taliesin in Springfield and the Monona Terrace in Madison;

Mid-Continent Railway Museum and steam engine ride and also the Riverside & Great Northern Railroad 15" rail train;

Lost Canyon horse and buggy rides through the rock formations;

an iron-deposit weird gravity "Wonder Spot";

House on the Rock (you gotta see the museum to believe it, plan to spend a whole day);

the already mentioned International Crane Foundation;

a lovely 90 minute drive to Nancy's Notions retail store in Beaver Dam (of "Sewing with Nancy" on public TV);

Hwy 12 internet Cafe is my fave mid-week stop;

Paint It Pottery makes a great afternoon project and actually useful souvenir;

our fave putt-putt is Pirate's Cove;

daily walks around Xmas Mountain itself and much, much more. These are just the SOME of the things we have ALREADY done; other places have already been mentioned by other redweek members.

Here's to many more years of visiting Christmas Mountain Village and the Wisconsin Dells.

Just returned, Aug, 2006 I currently own in Ft.Lauderdale, I rented privately online had I traded my banked time for this I would have been very upset. Stayed in the Timbers and upon checking in found the main bath dirty and smelling of urine! Living room carpet needed to be vaccumed. A call to the front desk immediately sent out housekeeping and cleaned the bath but the odor still remained. The Timbers is located in a wooded area, so many critters are nearby. One night me and my wife were up at 2:00 a.m. listening to them crawling around in the ceiling. Front desk didn't seem to care (probably because we complained about the bath eariler) if you don't mind roughing it for a week this place is all right, but we are used to spending our vacation at 4 star resorts at a min.

Christmas Mountain has so many different types of housing that it is hard to generalize. We first stayed in two, 2 bedroom/2bath duplex type cabins with 4 adults and 5 kids. Roomy units and well supplied but architectually simple. These units were near the large outdoor pool, clubhouse, and playground which was handy. We enjoyed the gas log fireplaces.

This past June, we went to the Dells for a larger reunion. Our branch of the family again stayed at Christmas Mt. but this time in an elegant 3 bedroom Townhouse plus an additional 1 bedroom nearby, since we had 6 adults and 5 children this time. The 3BR was actually a lock-off that could be divided into a full 2BR unit and a full 1BR unit. Since they had two living rooms, one could be used as a permanent fourth bedroom. Bluegreen owners pay with Points for whatever unit they need; it is up to them to choose what fits their group and their taste.

AS another review mentions, the registration building with its indoor pool burned down a few years ago. However, the new one is now up and running with significant improvements. What was a nice but simple pool is now a mini-waterpark! Of course the Dells is waterpark heaven, so they had to complete!

The resort grounds also include areas for camping, trailers, and permanent homes, as well as the Timbers units and the Villas. I suppose RCI exchanges get whatever is available, but owners can look over the assorted room plans and pick.

JUST NOTICED THAT ON THE CURRENT AD "PETS ALLOWED" IS CHECKED. I HAVE INQUIRED ABOUT THAT BEFORE AND WAS TOLD THAT ONLY SERVICE ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED.

I live fairly close to this resort I go at least once a year mainly in the summer. The Dells has a lot to offer for every age group. This resort is a very nice resort. It has a nice golf course. The restraurant is also good. They do try and have activities planned for the kids daily. There are 5 pools through out the property. I have stayed in the town homes which work well for larger families as well as the timbers. If just 2 to 4 people the villas are very nice and cozy the cabins are smaller but also well furnished and we have had 2 adults and 3 kids stay in them as well. The staff has always been friendly and if there are any problems they do handle them in a timely manner.The property is well maintained even the rv sites as well as the tenting sites which I have also used. all and all it has always beeen a great place to stay at. They also offer paddle boats and bicycles to use around the property. It is far enough away from all the noise but just a 5 to 10 minute drive to all the attractions in downtown Dells. So after a long day at the water parks it is nice to come back to the peace and quiet for the night. I will always go back at least once a year.

We stayed at Christmas Mountain Village for Christmas this past year and had a great time. We stayed in the log cabins and found them to be comfy and cozy. It's a beautiful place around Christmas time. Everyone there treated us very courteously. Skiing there was good to start with but Cascade Mtn. is only 20 miles away. I would definitely bring my family back there..

Units include elegant wooded townhomes, comfy log cabins and fairway villas. Five outdoor, one indoor pools. Top notch maintenance and staff. Upscale golf/tennis/equestrian/skiing (downhill/x-country) community with very nice restaurant & pub on site; 27 holes of challenging & picturesque golf offers year 'round beauty. Wisconsin Dells is a family entertainment mecca, featuring the nation's finest waterparks and go-kart complexes; Tommy Bartlett Thrill Show, unique rock formations, scenic boat trips, the famous "Ducks" and river & lake fishing. Decent hotels in town will run you $170 - $250 per night.

We stayed here July 17 - 23, 2004. The staff was freindly and curteous. The resort was very clean and well kept. The unit was in very good condition, furnishings were nice although the kitchen was a bit small. The golf course is kept in very nice shape and the recreation facilities are good.

There are as many attractions nearby as you want to see. Water parks, go carts, shops, shows, tours, you name it all within 5 to 10 miles. The location is very nice, far enough away from everything to be peaceful but close enough that everything is convenient.

We were called about a timeshare offer the first day there which would include some free passes to local attractions and a luau at the resort, but were not contacted again after we said that we were not interested.

Would definitely visit again.

We stayed here using my Mother's RCI use or lose week( just after X-mas.We own 2 weeks at Orange Lake in Orlando 5 stars!) The unit they gave us was very SMALL. 5 adults and 3 kids in a cramped 2 bedroom not so fun. It was unseasonably warm and so they did'nt have the tube run up and running. Food at the restaurant was great. Bar food was ok as well. Staff was courtious and came out for any need. TP, TV, etc. Movie theatre and water parks all around in down town Dells. (5 miles?) Ski packages seemed a little over priced for what you get. All in all if you get a bigger unit(which there seems to be very few of) it would be a lot more fun. Otherwise prepare to stay cozy. Would be a better Summer time trip as the golf couse looks nice. Rick Showalter

Some of the units are outstanding, particular the "Timbers" area. The other units are duplex cabins that are tightly grouped. We stayed in the cabins, which are well maintained and furnished, though a bit small. There is a RV parking area next to the main cabin area, which provides good opporunities to meet people from many areas, but the RVs can cause issues megociating the narrow roads.

Ammenties on site are decent. The golf course is good and a tennis court seamed to be always available. The outdoor pools are not heated, so can be too cold if the weather is not hot and sunny. The Rec centre is well appointed and the equipment "rental" shed is well supplied - but remote from the rest of the resort. The free rental bikes are in good condition, but the narrow roads are the only place to ride.

There are plenty of tourist attractions in the near by area, including some great indoor waterparks, an Indian casino and the International Crane Foundation.

Our family owns several units here. Over the past several years the area in the Wisconsin Dells area has developed phenomenally. The most recent development are $450,000 resort condominiums on the river. Walmart built here recently. We absolutely love the place. We're in Chicago so we take extended weekends often. The staff is very friendly and always help make our visit enjoyable.

We stayed at the resort in August in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage. The cottage was in very good shape (outside a broken sleeper couch that was taken care of after a quick phone call).

Overall, the resort was in good condition. We enjoyed the pool, although one one occasion, there was a strong scent of sulfer due to their watering of the nearby golf course with their well water.

We partook in a "luau" that really struck as a sales pitch/marketing opportunity by the Bluegreen sales department. We also attended a "feedback" session which, again, a thinly-veiled sales pitch opportunity.

Aside from those, we enjoyed our time there. We used their paddle boats, pools and the horseback adventure arranged with a nearby horse farm. We would recommend staying there.

7/18/03 - 7/25/03

Excellent resort. We had a little confusion to start with when trying to get registered because registration is in a new building since the old one burned down last summer. However, the staff was great and helped us with all our questions.

The resort itself was very clean and well maintained. Many times we noticed the grounds keepers picking up any little piece of paper as they drove around.

As for the unit itself (a cabin), it was also very clean. It was described as small and for many timeshares that probably would be true, but for 2 adults and three teens we stayed very comfortably. There was a few small things that needed tightening, etc. but very minor. When we did call maintenance for a broken toilet seat and to get rid of a wasp nest they were there within 10 minutes and took care of the problem the first time.

Our cabin was a short 60 yards or so from one of the 4 outdoor pools at this resort which my wife especially enjoyed. They have many activities at this resort (27 holes of golf, downhill skiing in winter, 3 tennis courts, min. golf, basketball, etc.). They also have daily activities but they do seem to be geared more toward younger children. There is a restaurant on site, but we did not use it. I hear they have good food but a little pricey.

The resort is a short 10 minutes to downtown WI Dells where you can find numerous water parks, shops and dining. Our teens especially enjoyed the go carting and bungee jumping. Also very convenient is the super Wal-Mart. About 5 minutes from Christmas Mountain, you will find all your groceries and any other supplies you may need for your vacation.

We had a perfect vacation at a great resort and I would recommend it for anyone. I think it's a great resort to bring the family and if you're into golfing or downhill skiing it's all here.

Really a nice resort, they maintain it very well, units are kept up...pretty good golf course(s) too. The many Dells activities can easily detract from the relaxation offered at the Mountain however. Good amateur ski hills for the winter time as well.
