Ferienclub Mitterfels (Mondi)

We just returned last night from a week at MITTERFELS. We felt the unit was the best part of this resort...great kitchen.....but once you stepped out of the unit, it was different. Half of the units at this resort lay 30 feet from a busy road into the town. We had traffic noise 24 hrs. a day. If you are there in warm weather and need to open windows, it is VERY NOISY. The resort is not well maintained...needs alot of loving care. The resort is NOT LOCATED out in the country like the photos show....but in the middle of a housing development in a town.

They do not have pools....and the place they use was closed down during our stay, the lady who is at the front desk most of the time was NOT helpful in the least.

The tour guide they used was a school teacher who give us a lot of misinfomation

The good points are the unit, and the location near PASSAU and REGENSBURG....which we really enjoyed visiting.

Timeshare experience

The unit is equipped with heaters for cold weather. There is only one TV in the unit (in the living room) for the one-bedroom unit. The bedroom has a king-size bed suitable for a couple. The living room has a sofa bed, which may accommodate another two occupants. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an oven, microwave oven, kettle, fridge, and all cooking utensils. The unit has a telephone, but no washing machine. Laundry can be washed at the coin-operated machines all around the units. Ample parking spaces are provided. TV has some cable channels, but only one English channel. Housekeeping is provided. There is a mini play area in the resort for kids. The resort offers bicycle rentals (but not in winter). The ski area is not far away (ski equipment can be rented from the resort). Petrol stations are just a one-minute drive away. Supermarkets are also very near. Best of all, the main market town, Straubing, is only 10 minutes away. Excellent getaway!

Best things about the resort This is a resort located in a very quiet town. The pace is slow, and everyone is just relaxed. The best thing about this resort is the fully equipped kitchen. I love cooking, and this resort was perfect for me!

Best things near by The best thing around this resort is the main market town, Straubing. It's only a 10-minute drive away! You can find the Town Center Tower, churches, and pedestrian shopping streets. At its heart lie two contiguous, elongated market squares, Theresienplatz and Ludwigsplatz, which are lined with a mixture of medieval, Baroque, Neoclassical, Historicist, and Jugendstil houses.

Best things about the resort Convenience for outdoor sightseeing of many villages nearby and day trips larger cities such as Prague, Passau, Regensburg, and Munich.

Best things near by Hiking in the Bavarian forest was wonderful. The resort had very good maps available. Small villages offered much in sightseeing of castles, ruins, villas, etc.
