- La Manga, 100kms south of Alicante, is a narrow strip of land 22kms long separating the Mediterranean from a 180km lagoon with 5 islands, called Mar Menor. The Atalaya and Star Alfa apartments are situated on the Mediterranean coast, the Atalaya swimming pool is available throughout the year, and the Star Alfa swimming pool is available June-October. The Soling apartments are across the road on the the coast of the lagoon. There is no swimming pool attached to these apts, which are numbered I103, I112 and I41.

5 stars in our own scale: long coast line, full off beaches, lagune with more salty water, additional beaches along the lagune, excellent for sailing & surfing, wonderful surrounding landscape, internet in the resort office nice to have 3 bedrooms, near to airports Almeria, Murcia (nearest airport), Alicante, weldone bus connections, no car needed

We have stayed in the Soling apartments. Although there is no swimming pool, it is directly on the beach. The water is very shallow, perfect for families and wind surfing. The area is very popular with Spanish families and there are lots of good restaurants in the vicinity.
